Mid-Summer Trends from Antiqua Golf

BY: @SPYZINGER
iGR is excited to introduce the addition of Leah to our apparel team.  Straight out of Las Vegas, Leah is part of the Platinum Modeling Agency which operates one of the most successful female caddy programs in the country, Platinum Tees.  Leah is onboard to model some of the latest trends in women’s golf and leisure fashion.  We couldn’t have had a better partner than Antiqua to present her inaugural shoot.  Welcome, Leah, we’re glad you’re here.

Antigua is recognized nationally for quality licensed apparel.  As one of the leading designers and marketers of golf and lifestyle apparel, they have been named as the provider for Team USA’s uniforms at the 2017 Solheim Cup.  GO USA!

If it isn’t apparent by now, I’m a fan of Antigua, especially in the women’s portfolio.  They have a healthy mix of both athletic and active lifestyle selections that embrace the athleisure movement which women’s golf has welcomed.  This article features selections that I hand-picked.  They include golf specific outfits as well as those that have broad spectrum appeal.  Selections that look just as appropriate for the course, the gym, and even that last minute trip to Target.  That’s getting the most out of an outfit purchase.

This is an interesting time in the women’s golf apparel scene.  Since the photo shoot took place, the LPGA has modified apparel requirements for touring professionals.  No racerbacks without a collar, no plunging necklines, no leggings worn alone, and longer skirt lengths.  I believe restrictions like these keep new participants away from our sport rather than welcoming them to it.  Women’s activewear has continued to evolve and made its way into golf apparel.  The game needs to embrace it rather and exclude it from the front door.

This, no doubt, will impact golf soft lines in some form as apparel brands may get a little more creative in their designs to comply with the guidelines.

Anyway, from the soapbox to the tee box, here are some of my favorite selections of the season from Antiqua Golf.  The subtle balance of active, athletic, and golf, all wrapped into one wardrobe.
