REVIEW: Cleveland TFi 2135 Satin 1.0 Putter

Consistent Distance and Alignment
Great putting is all about repetition.  If you can repeat the same stroke every time, you will have lower scores.  If a putter helps you be more consistent, this should help you achieve those lower scores.  In order to help with consistency, the Cleveland TFi 2135 Satin 1.0 Putter offers a new optimized milled face for a more consistent roll and the 2135 aiming tech that helps you aim more consistently.   Everything about this design is aimed at consistency.  If you are a little shaky on the greens or lack consistency, you might want to check this putter out.  This new putter from Cleveland is one of the more consistent putters I’ve ever tried.
The original Cleveland TFi 2135 putter was a really nice combo with the copper face, black body and raised alignment aid.  The feel was incredibly soft and the raised ailment aid worked.  The new version is now in satin for a different look.  The bronze face is replaced by a deep milled satin face.  The Polymer TPU snsert behind the face keeps the feel incredibly soft.

My first round with the Cleveland TFi2135 Satin putter was on greens that had just come out of over-seeding.  They were running about 5 on the stimp meter.  I came up short on most of my putts this day, but its hard to blame the putter when the greens are running so slow.  What I did have were putts that were online all round long, but just didn’t reach the hole.  The next couple rounds as the greens were starting to speed up and then I had more success getting the ball to the hole.  It still felt like I needed to “swing” just slightly harder than normal to get the ball to the hole.  The head is slightly lighter than my typical putter and the Polymer TPU insert really slows the ball down at impact.  This may be one of the softest “hitting” putters you can buy.  The metal milled face does offer more consistency than a polymer face so you kind of get the best of both worlds.

The new deep milled face or optimized milling as Cleveland is calling it puts a really nice roll on the ball.  I was able to practice with this putter on my new backyard putting green and am impressed by the small circle of misses with this putter.  If I was playing in one of those big cup tournaments, I think I would have made every putt.

The TFi alignment aid works too.  I had less side to side misses than other putters.  While from a pure aesthetics point of view, I’d like to see the whole putter in satin, rather than the black-out cavity, but I understand the contrast look behind the design.  This putter is easy to align. and no matter where my eyes are, the line goes through the center of the ball.

The Cleveland TFi 2135 1.0 Satin putter is perfect if you have a tendency to hit the  ball past the hole or if you have alignment issues causing both right and left misses.  The amazingly soft feel offers a consistent straight roll and the alignment aid is easy to set up and putt straight through the middle of the ball.  If you want to putt better, more consistency is the key.  The Cleveland TFi 2135 1.0 Satin putter offers both consistency in distance and aim.
