Review: Nike RZN Black Volt Golf Balls

R-E-L-A-X
As a huge Packer fan, the words that rolled off Aaron Rodgers tongue when everyone in WI was freaking out after 2 losses, put everything in perspective.  RELAX and things will be OK.  They turned out pretty well after that, not perfect, but very good.  There is no better word to use for golf either. R-E-L-A-X is just about the best advice you can give a golfer too.  Tension, nerves and freaking out don’t work well on the golf course.  The Nike RZN Black Volt Ball gives you the serious performance you want with the not so serious color.

The Volt color is Nike’s calling card in 2015.  Everything has gone Volt.  It’s bright, it’s bold, and it differentiates the brand from others.  While “yellow” golf balls aren’t new, companies making their best ball model in bright colors is newer.  The Volt colored balls fits well branding wise, it is also has some practical uses on the golf course.

My first round with the Nike RZN Black Volt golf ball was the opening day for golf courses in MN.  We are diehard golfers here and play the second a course opens, even if there is still some snow in the bunker or off in the rough.  Obviously the Volt Ball “popped” against the white, but even against the brown grass it seemed to stand out more than a white ball did.  Depending on the turf tones, Volt can either be easier to find or might blend in depending on the colors and time of the year.

The biggest factor for using the Volt color for me was to see the game as fun.  There is something about changing the color of the ball for any sport seems to make it feel a little less serious and a lot more fun.  Volt did that for me.  Every round I’ve played this spring with the Nike RZN Black Volt has been fun.  If you are in a rut of way to serious golf, grab a Volt colored ball and have fun.

The final aspect that causes me to R-E-L-A-X  when playing a Nike RZN Black Volt is that it has some of the best performance features to back it up.  I’m not worried about distance or spin or trajectory because I know this is one of the top performing balls on the market.  (see my full RZN ball test here)  If you’ve played a cheap “yellow” ball before you wonder if the distance will be up to par or if it will spin enough to hold the green, but not with the RZN Black.  I could just RELAX, hit the ball and enjoy the results.
