Puma 2010 Apparel
Age Restrictions Apply
Golf is sometimes thought of as an oldman’s stuffy, stodgy, formal sport. There are those that don't think youth and their style fit with the traditions of the game. I think Puma is changing that image in a positive way by offering youthful styles that still maintain class and tradition.
My Puma outfit consisted of shoes, pants, shirt, jacket and hat. (all I was missing was a belt) I'll start at the top and work my way down. The hat is one of the new stylish military hats. Not everyone can pull these off. They are youthful in their look, yet in the simple black with a gray puma, it wasn't bold bright or obnoxious. You can get that too if you so desire, the Ricky Fowler orange is an option for the most youthful and daring golf stylist.
The jacket was a nice touch to any spring outfit, since there are many cool days that don't necessarily need a rain coat, but something to offer a little warmth is helpful. It is a zip-up sweatshirt. It is very comfortable and the fit was tight enough not to impede the swing. The outside was done tastefully with the 18 holes logo covering the jacket in a white on white design with just a single Puma logo on the back right shoulder.
The polo is very youthful in appearance and modern in performance. The dri-fit material was comfortable and breathable. The polka dot pattern while bright and bold, but still was done in a tasteful, youthful way. As with most Puma gear, it is cut on the small fit and trim side so if you are between sizes always go a size up.
The pants are pretty standard straight forward black cotton pants. I ordered the same size I wear from every other company and these fit perfectly. They are a touch on the slim side, but if I can fit my oversized legs into them, I'm guessing most people can. The only negative I could find would be that they only come in one length. 32” Since I wear a 30” inseam, I needed to have mine hemmed up. But this easy modification made these one comfortable pair of pants. They came out of the laundry wrinkle free and still the same color. The Puma logo is placed right below the left thigh pocket. While it looks nice, people sometimes wonder if you have string on your pants when they first see it.
Between PUMA’s youthful image, the acquisition of Cobra Golf brand, and some very good tour players, they are poised to renew the youth and energy of golf.
