"The engine of a club".  I think that this statement is really accurate.  I have found that just changing a shaft can completely transform a club.  I do my shaft testing using a swappable shaft system.  That way the variables are minimal.  It is hard to compare shafts in different heads, but maintaining the same head, I can compare shafts launch angle, feel and accuracy easily.
