BGT Paradox Mallet Putter Review

Zero-Torque putters are all the rage right now.

Every putter company is hopping on the bandwagon in some way shape or form.

They all claim to resist twisting so that your putter won’t fight your putting stroke. They install a sleeve or two handled attachment so that you can see the lack of movement during the putting stroke compared to a “normal” putter.

However, those physics only apply in certain circumstances, not all the time in the real world.

The new BGT Paradox Mallet Putter has the Principal Axis of Inertia aligned so that no matter how you stroke the putter, this putter isn’t going to twist.

However you set it, is how it stays whether the putter is resting or moving.

I SO does this better science make more putts?

rolled this putter on the course for 6 rounds and rolled it for practice on the iGolfReviews putting green.

This is my definitive BGT Paradox Mallet Putter Review.

BGT Paradox Mallet Putter

Paradox Different Shape

The first and most obvious feature of the BGT Paradox Mallet Putter is the headshape.

It has a “fang” style mallet shape that offers a black aluminum body and silver steel fangs.

The high toe means that the natural position of this putter is at an angle to the golfer.

While examining this different shaped putter in the bag looks odd, when you set it on the ground behind the ball on the green, it offers a fairly “normal” look at address.

The tri-sole also makes it easy to set down square at address.

Putters now come in all shapes and sizes so this new look isn’t hard to get used to.

Maybe it isn’t for the purist, but it is perfect for the techie.

Hi-Toe Soft Face

The face on the BGT Paradox Mallet Putter has all kinds of cool milling.

The various areas of the face have different patterns to create a unique look.

Essentially there are 3 different milling patterns on the face, but the main point of contact is milled with Paradox triangles.

The aluminum face offers a soft feel at impact.

The combination of metal, milling and weight distribution means that you get a crisp metal feel that has a softness to it because of the deep milling.

I really like how the ball comes of the face with a controlled, predictable and pleasant feel on every putt.

The outer milled areas look cool, but shouldn’t get any use from contact with the ball.

Principal Axis of Inertia?

Not all zero-torque putters are the same.

The BGT Paradox Mallet Putter has what they call the Principal Axis of Inertia.

Is super simple terms that mean no matter what angle you put this putter it will stay there: toe up, toe down, toe at 3:00, any which way this putter is perfectly balanced.

This putter is unique which makes it the ideal for any swing type: straight back/straight through, slight arch, or strong arch.

The BGT Paradox Mallet Putter is not going to fight against your stroke, but it will simply stay on the path that your stroke it.

The science behind this putter is better than the other zero-torque putters out there.

Summary

Breakthrough Golf Technology is all about the science of golf.

Their shafts have pushed boundaries and now the BGT Paradox Mallet Putter is taking “zero-torque” putting to a new level too.

It comes with a BGT Stability Shaft along with a zero taper round grip.

The science behind this putter is legit and has the potential to unlock better putting.

It takes a bit to get used to the unorthodox looks.

The principal axis of inertia is real science that keeps this putter from twisting no matter how you stroke it.
