“Bag chatter” is one of those annoying things that happens to forged irons over time. While some might call it battle scars or breaking them in, I just see it as eye sores on those beautiful new irons. Not only is it annoying to look at, but the clanging of clubs as carts bounce down the fairway isn’t any more enjoyable. While “quiet” bags seem to have their online haters; avoiding the banging metal sound on the course and the results of clubs hitting together really does extend the life of your clubs, especially if you like keeping them looking like new.

The BIG MAX Dri Lite Silencio 3 Cart Bag is the upgraded version of their 14 way top with slots for your irons and wedges so that they don’t bang or clang against each other, but now with upgraded materials and design for a better ride and function while playing.

This is my official BIG MAX Dri Lite Silencio 3 Cart Bag Review.

BIG MAX Dri Lite Silencio 3 Cart Bag

Silencio 14 Way Top

The heart and soul of the BIG MAX Dri Lite Silencio 3 Cart Bag is the Silencio 14 way top which holds irons and wedges in their individual slots with a molded top so that they can’t clang against each other or move. The irons form kind of an outer ring while the woods fit down the middle. There is a large well for your putter too. Essentially your club hang in these slots so that ride all 18 holes quietly in position without every moving, yet are easy to pull out or put in.

Because of how tall the bag is so that your irons hang, the wood headcover tend to bunch a little at the base, but that isn’t really a problem since that helps keep them from moving too. If you have sock style, those will fit down the slots. I wouldn’t recommend going without headcovers as they will bang a little since they don’t vary enough in height. If you go more than 14 clubs, you can sneak a few in the bigger putter slot or in the secret side slot by the 4-iron.

Dri Lite Material and Soft Guard PU

A big upgrade to the BIG MAX Dri Lite Silencio 3 Cart Bag is the new Dri Lite Materials paired with Soft Guard PU synthetic leather. These premium materials offer a refined and classic look for both function and style. I went with the Charcoal/Black/Fuchsia color for a combination of sophisticated style with some bright pop. It not only looks awesome, but has a nice feel to the touch, it can withstand the beating of the bag drop and even is weather proof. The seams are all sealed against rain so that all the gear you pack in this bag will stay dry. The combination of luxury with style make this a real head turning bag.

11 Pockets For Storing Gear

The BIG MAX Dri Lite Silencio Cart Bag has 11 pockets: 3 down the spine, and 4 on each side. These pockets can store more gear than you can possibly use during a round. The “Cooler” pocket is the top spine pocket and it is huge. You can fit 2 very large water bottles in it or at least a 6-pack of your favorite beverage. The pockets below that hold your golf balls and accessories.

When you get to the side pockets the sides mirror each other so that you have a velvet lined pocket on each side for your wallet, phone and sunglasses. There are large side pockets which can hold shoes and rain gear. The slot pockets can hold score cards or gloves. The pockets seem like they just keep going for whatever else you want to bring to the course: speaker, extra balls, launch monitor, etc. They also upgraded the hooks for towels and other clip on accessories.

Improved On-Course Usage

Another big improvement in the BIG MAX Dri Lite Silencio 3 Cart Bag is how it attaches to riding carts. Before the strap just went over the top of the bag, which often sat on top of pockets. Now they included a pass through slot on each side of the bag so that when you strap it to a cart, it is secure without covering up a pocket. The height seems a little better fit for riding in carts as well as sitting on push carts.

The Silencio top is easy to use for every shot because the club come in and out smoothly and then never wiggle or budge when put back in the bag. They won’t touch each other no matter how bumpy the ride. The angled slots keep them in place which means you always know where to look for your 4-iron or gap wedge because it always goes back into the same slot. While I don’t care too much about the time it saves, I really like being able to quickly know that all my clubs are with me and one didn’t get left behind; full slots mean all 14 clubs are in the bag.

Summary

The BIG MAX Dri Lite Silencio 3 Cart Bag is an improvement over the previous versions with better materials, better on-course function and better size. It keeps your club quietly with for the whole round with the Silencio top which protects them from each other keeping those brand new forged irons looking like new even after multiple rounds with them in the bag. If you mostly golf on a riding cart, this bag is amazing for its quiet keeping of your clubs, the 14-way top, the ample storage, the driver or passenger usage, the huge cooler pockets, and the premium style.
