Blue Tees Series 3 Max+ Laser Rangefinder Review

I am a big believer in laser technology as my measurement device on the golf course.  I acquired accurate distances for 6 rounds with the Blue Tees Series 3 Max+ Laser Rangefinder this fall. It is an upgrade to their previous Series 3 laser rangefinder.
Those upgrades include an external shell redesign, a different battery, and improved internal components and software.  Not only is it one of the better lasers on the market, it offers great value at $199.

This is my definitive Blue Tees Series 3 Max+ Laser Rangefinder Review.

Blue Tees Series 3 Max+ Laser Rangefinder

3 Max+

The Blue Tee Series 3 has been their best selling model for 3 years.  I was impressed by the first one I reviewed (here).  The new Max+ model updated 3 features to make it better while still selling at the same price as the previous version.  The new shape is more ergonomic in your hand making it easier to hold and captures distances.  The new battery is now USB rechargeable instead of CR-4 replaceable.  The final upgrade is the internal electronic/software which processes distances faster.

On-Course Function

The Blue Tees Series 3 Max+ Laser Rangefinder has all the common features expected in a laser: accuracy, long battery life, clear optics, slope, red/black display and magnet.  As a avid fan of laser, this one checks all the boxes on the course.  I found it to be very quick from cart to knowing the distance.  It turns on and off quickly with the top button.  It locks on the pin immediately.  I didn’t miss the pin, but got the pulse vibration on the first try every time.  The magnet is plenty strong which means the laser never moved even over big bumps.

Battery Life

Battery life is always the best part of laser rangefinders.  Blue Tees used to provide an extra CR-4 Battery with their laser rangefinders which meant you had almost 2 years worth of battery life right out of the box.  But since everything has pretty much moved to USB rechargable batteries, 3 Max+ uses a USB-C port to recharge the internal battery.  I found battery life just as good, probably even longer since I didn’t even make a dent in the battery indicator after 6 rounds.  In a worse case scenario, you can keep the cord in your golf bag and give it some juice quickly in the car, or even most golf carts have USB ports.

Summary

Blue Tees continues to impress with another solid laser, especially with the upgrades.  The Series 3 Max+ is sure to be a best seller again with the upgraded features and excellent price.  I found the laser to be extremely accurate and easy to use.  The new rechargeable battery means you should never have a dead battery or if you do, it can quickly be charged.   The new improvements means an even better laser still at a great value.  Their 2 year warranty also means you have confidence in your purchase.  I had a minor glitch which was quickly and easily resolved by their AI based customer service.  I think the Blue Tee Series 3 Max+ Laser Rangefinder offers excellent upgrades at one of the best values.
