Bushnell is and has been the #1 laser on tour for well over a decade.

They continue year after year to make the best laser rangefinders.

While they have the best technology, they are also the most expensive.

The new Bushnell A1-Slope Laser Rangefinder offers all the brilliance and accuracy of a Bushnell laser at a more budget friendly price.

I used it for 6 rounds to acquire distances around the course.

I used it walking and riding and found this compact laser to be an excellent design and accurate on the 1st shot.

If you want Bushnell but on a budget, this is the perfect option.

This is my official Bushnell A1-Slope Laser Rangefinder Review.

Bushnell A1-Slope Laser Rangefinder

Compact

The Bushnell A1-Slope Laser Rangefinder is their smallest rangefinder.

However, it doesn’t feel small, nor is it small on features.

Even though the body is compact, it has a really nice feel in the hands with good weight, and ergonomic design.

The Bite Magnetic Skin fits like a glove and doesn’t add much weight or size, but keeps it protected from the elements and adds a cart bar magnet.

This is a versatile laser for both walkers and riders being compact, but not feeling or acting small.

Bushnell Technology

Bushnell is a leader in laser technology and the A1-Slope offers the clarity and accuracy of Bushnell.

I only needed to shoot flags once to hit them and feel the PinSeeker with JOLT work.

The 6x magnification is industry standard and is easy to find objects in the distance and yet brings them close enough to lock in.

The slope calculations were accurate when wanted and easily turned off if playing in a tournament.

I have the same confidence in this laser as I do using the Bushnell PRO X3+Laser.

Power Cart or Push Cart Ready

Bushnell did something brilliant with the design of the A1-Slope by putting the BITE magnet on the skin rather than on the laser itself.

If you’ve ever used your laser while walking and thrown it into your push cart “glove-box” only to have it come out with a ball marker, divot tool and your keys you’d rather not have BITE while walking.

But when you use a power cart you want BITE for the bar.

The removable BITE skin allows you to easily and securely attach and detach the BITE when you want it and don’t for walking or riding.

Battery Life

The Bushnell A1-Slope Laser Rangefinder has a USB-C rechargeable battery.

I “filled” it up out of the box and after 6 rounds it is still full.

Bushnell says 50+ rounds per charge which means for many golfers and entire season.

If you play more, it takes a hour or so to completely recharge it.

Especially with the addition of USB ports in many power carts and in your car/truck, you should easily be able to find time over a golf season to recharge the battery when needed.

This remains one of the main benefits of laser rangefinders is that your distances are always available all season long without worry.

Budget

One of the #1 questions that I get about golf products is getting a “well-known” or “expensive” product on a budget.

Golfers want a laser, but don’t want to invest in the Bushnell Pro X3+ model.

You are in luck since the Bushnell A1-Slope is about 1/2 the price of their flagship model.

While it doesn’t have all the same features, it is still a Bushnell laser which offers accuracy, ease of use, long battery life, and a brilliant design but on a budget.

Summary

Bushnell made a brilliant move with the A1-Slope Laser Rangefinder.

It is compact but full featured. It has all the accuracy of Bushnell along with PinSeeker JOLT and slope.

The BITE magnetic skin is perfect for walkers or riders.

If you want a really great rangefinder but on a budget, the A1-Slope is the perfect combination of everything Bushnell on a budget.
