Bushnell continues to dominate the tour pro laser rangefinder market with a 98.1% usage on tour.  It is also the #1 rangefinder for amateurs too.  The new Bushnell Pro X3+ Laser Rangefinder added some features to keep it on the top.  I used it for 8 rounds to see if the new features are worth it.

This is the definitive Bushnell Pro X3+ Laser Rangefinder Review for 2024.

Bushnell Pro X3+ Laser Rangefinder

Why Bushnell Laser?

There are a number of companies gunning for Bushnell’s top spot and while these other brands keep making improvements, Bushnell still makes the BEST laser rangefinder.  I have had a Bushnell on my bag for years and the improvements just keep coming. I keep Bushnell lasers because of the incredibly long battery life, the crystal clear optics and the plethora of features.

New Features

The Bushnell Pro X3+ Laser Rangefinder is almost identical to the previous model, + wind and elevation information.  It has the same 7x magnification, 1300 yard measurement,  Slope switch, Dual Color  Display, Bite Magnetic hold, Jolt vibration, Case, and BLUETOOTH pairing.  It is one of the larger rangefinders on the market, but still fits nicely in my hand the heavier weight keeps it steady.  It is IPX7 so no matter the weather conditions it will survive a rainy day. The new features paired with the previous features make this the top laser rangefinder.

X3+

In order to unlock all of the Bushnell Pro X3+ Laser Rangefinder’s features you need to pair it with the App.  Once you do that you can get wind direction and set your home course elevation.  These 2 new features really dial in exactly what the elements are doing for each swing.  The internal compass will know which way the laser is pointing and then displays the wind direction and speed to that shot.  It is based on the current weather report so it may not be to the actual mph of a gust, but it is pretty darn close.  Since I play in Tucson, AZ for most of my rounds I also have the elevation set to 2500′.

On-Course Usage

I am a laser rangefinder golfer and the Bushnell Pro X3+ laser offers the most accurate distances to anything I can bounce the laser off of.  I get it out on the first hole and use it repeatedly for most shots.  The BITE is perfect for riding carts and the super fast, super accurate distances proved by JOLT mean that I can step up and hit the shot.  Since I rarely play in tournaments, I leave the slope on and use all the features that this unit can provide me.  It is simple, straightforward, and lasts an entire season with one battery.

Is It Still The Best?

The Bushnell Pro X3+Laser Rangefinder is the best on the market.  You simply can’t be the accuracy and features.  The larger size and stronger magnification are 2 of the features that I think really help keep it on the top.  While I know that lighter and smaller are maybe easier for walking, but those few ounces don’t matter as much as the stability and ease of finding the pin with the stronger and heavier laser.  I’d heard a number of times guys say something like, “if only this thing could compensate for wind?”  Well now it does.  This laser has every feature and remains the best laser in golf.

Summary

Bushnell continues to dominate the laser rangefinder market and the new features will keep it there.  I remain a laser guy and the Pro X3+ offers everything I want and even a little more information than I need so that I can make confident decisions about each shot. The ease of use, long battery life, dual display, 7x zoom, JOLT, BITE and elements adjustments make this the #1 laser rangefinder.
