A Little Less And A Lot More Make This A Perfect Fit For The Bag
The one club that every golf wants to master is their Driver. If they can optimize their swing with the best fit, longest, and most accurate driver; every golfer believes that their game will improve. Statistically that is true: more fairways and longer distance means better scores. Yet, for some reason the driver remains the most unpredictable club in the bag. It seems like even when it is good, we all believe it could be better.
The Callaway Quantum Mini Driver is the club that you need in your bag that you didn’t know you needed until you hit it. While it is just a little less than driver in size and distance, it is a lot more than driver in fairways, accuracy and confidence. If you are you are looking for a club to trust off the tee, this mini driver won’t let you down. I’ve now gamed a mini driver for most of 2026 this one is the closet thing to ideal that I’ve tried. I also tested it in the IGR Office by Carl’s Place DIY Simulators and found that it earned the spot in my bag.

A Little Bit Less
This is the bad news of any mini driver: It is smaller and shorter than a regular driver. The Callaway Quantum Mini Driver is 340cc which means it is one of the biggest in the mini driver category, but still 120cc smaller than the Callaway Quantum Driver. So by name and on purpose it is a smaller driver head. It is also 1.75″ shorter than driver so you can’t quite generate the same swing speed as full driver. This all translates into a few less yards off the tee with mini driver. Average was about 10 yards less than driver.

A Lot More
The Callaway Quantum Mini Driver however offered a lot more fairways hit off the tee. I virtually never missed a fairway when hitting the mini driver off the tee. It is as “aim and hit” as any club I’ve ever played. I found it more forgiving, longer, and easier to hit than a 3-wood. While I gave up 10 yards on average, I gained fairways hit. While I’m still going to hit driver when maximum distance is needed and when there is minimal danger off the tee, but if it is hole with OB or danger, or an absolute must hit fairway, I’m going to pull out mini driver.
Quantum Tech
The Callaway Quantum Mini Driver is simply a smaller Quantum Driver in every way. It looks identical, it feels the same, and the performance is so similar you have to check the sole to remember which club you hit. It used a 2 weight system for changing spin and launch along with an adjustable hosel to impact loft and lie. The carbon fiber crown and titanium face are just like a driver only smaller. This mini driver is so pure. It also comes in 13.5* or 11.5* to match your needs of max distance or max launch. I went with launch to hit more fairways and I barely gave up any distance.
Tri-Force Face With Step Sole
The Callaway Quantum Mini Driver uses the same Tri-Force Face as their regular drivers for exceptional ball speed. The combination of titanium, poly mesh and carbon make for a hot face as well as a forgiving face. That is paired with the step sole so that you can hit this both off the tee or the fairway. The design works well for both uses because there is no sole interaction off a tee, but off the turf this club won’t drag on the ground. The big hot face paired with the step sole makes this club long from anywhere.
Staying In The Bag
The Callaway Quantum Mini Driver grabbed a new spot in the bag and isn’t letting go. I’ve played mini driver before and as much as I liked them, they didn’t seem to stay permanently in the bag. It was trying to figure out which of my current 14 clubs was leaving the bag. I found that going with one less wedge simplified the short game, while allowing me more flexibility in my long game. Keeping more tee balls in play, hitting par 5s in two and simply being more confident in my long game, improved my short game or maybe better put took pressure off my short game.
Golf is often a game played between the ears and having a club that offers pure confidence without sacrificing much distance can really change your attitude and your results. A my golfing buddies would say “boring golf” leads to awesome scores. The high launch, straight flight, and long distance keep this club in the bag. I simply had to make a slot for it because the results made my scores better. It is really good right off the rack with a Fujikura Ventus Black Charcoal 60 S shaft.
Summary
While the Callaway Quantum Mini Driver is a little less (length and size) it is a lot more off the tee in terms of confidence and accuracy. I had to make a spot in my bag for this club because it simply earned it. I’m barely giving up any yardage while hitting more fairways off the tee and can even hit longer approach shots off the fairway with “mini driver off the deck.” If you are looking for the closest thing to a “full” driver but want the benefits of a mini driver, this is the club for you. Even if you don’t have a slot in the bag for it now, you will make one because of the results.
