I am all in on zero-torque putters.

Besides testing, every putter I’ve gamed for the last 2 seasons has been zero-torque. I didn’t need to change my putting stroke, I could just putt freely and I never had to worry if the face was closing or opening while putting.

It obviously is catching on as just about every club maker has a zero-torque putter or putter line.

Last year I used first version of this by Evnroll.

While I liked the results and overall saw good results with the putter, I found myself struggling with the reverse offset hosel for my eye and alignment.

The new Evnroll Zero Z5cs Hatchback Putter offers a center shaft for a more “traditional” look to my eye, with the 5 hatchback shape for easy alignment and the ever outstanding SweetFace technology.

I found this putter rolled the ball with no excuse from the first round of golf to the 6th with great touch and accuracy.

This is my definitive Evnroll ZERO Z5cs Hatchback Putter Review.

SweetFace Tech

Evnroll has been proven to have the best and most forgiving face in putters.

The variable depth grooves are scientifically proven to put the best roll on the ball.

My testing of every Evnroll putter has confirmed that truth.

The ball rolls incredible pure off the face of the Evnroll ZERO Z5cs Hatchback Putter.

What I really liked was the energy transfer from the center shaft model into the ball.

Hatchback Alignment

The Evnroll ZERO Z5cs Hatchback Putter has 2 lines that go from the face to the back of the putter.

The “fang” design also creates an alignment visual behind the ball.

I like the center shaft too which splits the lines in the middle making for an easy way to putt the two lines, 2 fangs down the line and split the ball in 1/2 with the center shaft.

It is really easy to set the putter down behind the ball and point it at your target.

Center Shaft

Honestly, I wasn’t a center shaft putter guy for a long time.

I always felt like it caused me to hit the ball out on the toe.

However as my putting has evolved through my years of testing, I find that I can confidently roll a center shafted putter and even like the look.

I think the Evnroll ZERO Z5cs Hatchback Putter looks more natural to my eye compared to the reverse offset hosel.

I like how it makes the weight feel right behind the ball at impact. I could putt freely and confidently in all aspects of putting: alignment, stroke, feel and roll.

Weight Forward

The Evnroll ZERO Z5cs Hatchback Putter has the weights forward right behind the face.

This remains my favorite weighting system since I can feel the weight push through the ball without feeling like the weight is delayed hitting the ball when the weights are in the back of a mallet.

These weights have the purpose of keeping this putter a zero-torque model as well.

The nice heavy feel of this putter makes it really solid on the green.

On-Course Performance

I’ve often said that zero-torque putters have a learning curve, even if going from one model to another, however the Evnroll ZERO Z5cs Hatchback Putter didn’t.

I found myself immediately rolling this putter with confidence on the greens.

It was easy to set-up, aimed easily and puts a smooth consistent roll on the ball.

The 6061 aluminum body, paired with the weights and head shape give it a slight “ping” at impact.

It is slightly different than other putters at impact, but the feel is crisp and firm on each putt.

I was super consistent with my putts: short putts feel easy and long putts end up close or in.

Summary

2025 is another full year of zero-torque putters and the Evnroll ZERO Z5cs Hatchback Putter is one of the best new versions combining Evnroll’s SweetFace tech with a center shaft, good weights and easy alignment.

I found it easier to adjust to this zero-torque putter compared to others.

The shape and alignment make it easy to set down and go.

I like the little details in the grip and headcover too which make this a top new putter to try for 2025.

If you want to get on the zero-torque bandwagon, I think this one is a great one to start with since it takes no time to adjust and roll putts into the hole.
