Fabre F1 Irons Review
If You Want Different Results Maybe You Just Need Different Irons
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
Are golfers a bit insane buying the newest clubs that are essentially the same, but somehow expect they are going to produce different results?
A lot of the golf industry is cut and paste from previous years and slap a new logo on it and use a new slogan bragging about new technology, while essentially repackaging the same thing.
The Fabre F1 Irons are actually different from other irons.
Each iron is 100% CNC milled in the USA with precise CG and high MOI. Beyond that, they have a unique shape, higher launch with further carry distances, an onset look, and a big price tag.
If you actually want something different out of your irons, maybe you need the Fabre F1 Irons which are different from other irons.
I tested these irons over 6 rounds of golf as well as hitting them in the iGR Carls Place DIY Simulator.
This is my definitive Fabre F1 Irons Review.

100% CNC Milled Irons
Kip Fabre takes a block of stainless steel and mills each irons head 100% here in the USA.
I don’t think any other golf company is doing this in anything other than putters.
Each head is meticulously handcrafted with a unique shape, deep CG and high MOI.
They have a big cavity back design with the mass out by the toe which I’ve found to be a great combo for launch and forgiveness.
This allows the Fabre F1 irons to be uniquely made in each loft.
These are not your “cookie cutter” iron but uniquely designed and crafted here in the USA.
This also means the specs are spot on in every iron for loft, lie angle, face flatness, groove precision, etc.
You can’t find a more precisely made set of irons.

Unique Head Shape
There is no way around the reality of the unique shape of the Fabre F1 Irons.
While they certainly have similarities to other irons, they are different than anything else on the market.
They are compact vertically, have a big cavity, a large flat sole with a super thin top line.
They have a “goose” neck like hosel transition, but yet almost an onset look at address.
The massive amount of weight pushed out toward the toe along with an additional adjustable toe weight.
The beveled leading edge and trailing edge along with sharp angles make them look different.
You can also make them uniquely yours with every level of customization possible when ordering: lie angle, swingweight, ferrule, shaft, grip, etc.

Learning the Launch and Distance
These unique irons require a little learning curve because when you hit them you get different results than your typical irons.
For example the first time I hit my Fabre F1 Irons 4-iron I hit it 218 yards which is 18+ yards longer than my previous 4 iron.
While not all the clubs are 18 yards longer, but all hit much higher than any other iron I’ve hit, but also tend to go a little further.
I had to change my gapping and stock distances to accommodate the higher launch and longer distance, but it wasn’t a straight 1 club distance.
It was a progression of 1 full club down to just a 1/2 club difference.
Wind also played a bigger factor with the higher launch.
I did get different results, but there were mostly good being higher launch, more distance and straighter.

Different Performance
The Fabre F1 Irons do things other irons don’t and can’t do.
They truly offer something different in terms of performance.
They are more consistent, launch much higher and go further.
They are also very straight hitting with their huge cavity back.
That performance takes time to adjust, but isn’t that the point of buying new irons to get something better and different than previous clubs.
While it took me a few rounds to adjust, I finally had one of my best iron striking days in a while with these irons.
I had these custom irons built in a 4-PW+ set. I had them built with Nippon Pro Modus3 Tour 120 shafts which are my favorite feeling shafts.
The combo offered excellent performance and feel once I figured out these different irons.

Summary
The Fabre F1 Irons are different, which means not only do they look different, but the results are different (in a good way) too.
However this performance comes at a price. At $650 per irons these are also a different price point than other brands.
But why keeps spending money on irons that are just going to be the same as the irons you are already playing.
If you want different results, get different irons.
These irons offer different looks, launch, distance and results.
You might need a few rounds to adjust, but you’ll see performance like you’ve never seen before.
I’m not sure they’ll make it to the PGA tour, but regular golfers might see a real difference with these irons in the bag.
