Set-Up
The FlightScope Mevo Gen2 Launch Monitor takes a few steps before it is ready to track data.
You will need to charge the unit out of the box and have a second device like a smart phone, tablet or computer.
I recommend a smartphone to start since it is the easiest to navigate and connect.
You can work with other devices once you get it set up.
Download the app, connect via WiFi and scan the QR code on the back of the Mevo.
Once everything is connected and logged in, you can start hitting balls and tracking information
If you purchased the Face Impact and/or Pro Plan, you’ll need to get the code emailed to you and then input it into the app.
Once the code is registered, then you have access to everything.
If you plan to play simulator golf, you also have access to 8 E6 Connect golf courses which requires another code.
That works best off a PC connecting to a projector.
Don’t get frustrated and don’t be surprised if this whole process takes an hour. It will be worth it for all the features and data you will have access to.
While there is the base unit and a couple add-on features, I like that there are no additional subscriptions after that.
You will be able to use the FlightScope Mevo Gen2 Launch Monitor season after season without paying an annual or monthly subscription fee which needs to be considered when looking at different launch monitor choices.

Outdoor data or Indoor simulator
The FlightScope Mevo Gen2 Launch Monitor can be used anywhere that you can swing a club and hit balls.
The 3D dopler radar requires 8ft of space behind the hitting area, but that is about it.
It can track a ball all the way down the range or only for a few feet into a screen.
The tip out kickstand makes set up take seconds.
It doesn’t need to be leveled or tilted, it can do that internally. (within reason)
At the range I connect it to my iPhone and can see every data parameter I could ever what.
The Fusion tracking also allows me to see my swing through the camera too.
I can also bring it indoors and connect it to my PC for playing simulator golf.
It comes with reflector stickers to tracking spin more accurately, but I have RCT golf balls that essentially does the same thing.
I can set it up for indoor range or playing simulator golf.
There are also come fun combine practice modes as well as range games that my kids enjoy playing.
What most impresses me about this launch monitor is the consistency of tracking indoor vs outdoor.
My numbers don’t change based on the location of where I’m hitting.
My irons go the same distance indoors as they do outdoors.
This makes testing clubs for reviews trustworthy whether I’m the range or in the iGR Office.
I find that the simulator mode recreates golf accurately so that I score about the same on the real course or on the digital one.
The real benefit is that I can play 18 holes in the office in less than an hour.

It is considerably better than the new low cost launch monitors because of the data it provides is not only more accurate, but also more robust. It isn’t just club speed, smash and distance.
It is the full plethora of data: 20 data points + face impact and fusion tracking.
This is the stuff of $19,999 launch monitors.
At the same time, you also get data that is virtually identical to the most expensive units shot after shot.
The updated app makes it more user friendly and the data points more accessible to understand and track information.
The combination of number charts along with the range visual makes it clear exactly what each shot did.
You can also do putting on this launch monitor which is another huge bonus, especially when playing simulator golf so that it isn’t just an auto 2-putt if you hit the green.
App/Software/Simulator
The FlightScope Mevo Gen2 Launch Monitor App is free, the FlightScope cloud connection is also free and access to 8 E6 Connect courses is also included.
I used to have the 30 courses on the E6 Connect software for the iGR Office, but I dropped that expensive subscription in favor of these courses: Kiawah Ocean Course, Torrey Pines South Course, Kapalua Golf Club Plantation Course, Valderrama Golf Club, Sea Island Seaside Course, Pelican Hill Golf Club, Chateau Whistler Golf Club, Latrobe Country Club.
These are more than enough options to play indoors regularly.
