Garmin Venu 4 Watch Review
Fitness and Health With a Side of Golf
Fitness and Health are one of the best gifts that you can give yourself. It doesn’t really matter what time of year it is, or what your new year’s resolution was, is or will be. The better we take care of our bodies, the better they take care of us when we go on adventures, travel the world, have a stressful day, or play 18 holes of golf.
The Garmin Venu 4 Watch is their newest version of a health focused smartwatch that can pretty much do it all at a mid price point. Add to the fact that it can also connect with Garmin Golf App, that means it allows you to wear this every day, not matter what your activity and focus on your health and fitness, and yet whenever you get a chance to play golf, your smartwatch is ready to give you distances, keep score and play your best while feeling your best.
This is my official Garmin Venu 4 Watch Review.

Health Focus
The heart and soul of the Garmin Venu 4 Watch is Health. Everything from the main display to the first menus that pop up with buttons is about the activities and health centered options you can choose from. A simple swipe up gives you a health snap shot which you can then select for even more details about your body battery, your sleep score, your sleep coach, your heart rate, your HRV, your steps, your Pulse Ox and Stress. If you use these details in connection with the Garmin Connect App you can really take control of your health. This allows you to make a plan and follow it. You can even use HSA/FSA funds to purchase this watch.

Beautiful Display and Style
The Garmin Venu 4 Watch has one of the brightest and clearest AMOLED displays. The touchscreen is easy to swipe, move and navigate. The home screen can be customized with features or completely customized through the Garmin IQ store. You can get the metal bezel in either black or silver. There are multiple options for bands either sporty or classy. The stock bands are really comfortable and fit almost any wrist size. There are 2 buttons that help navigate almost any menu or resource available on the watch paired with the touchscreen navigation.

Golf Feature
The Garmin Venu 4 Watch is part of the Garmin family of watches that connect to the Garmin Golf App and work as GPS for your round of golf. Once you make sure courses are downloaded you don’t need your phone again, everything can be done on the watch. The Venu 4 offers limited maps of the hole, but full details about the distances, front, middle, back, hazards and bunkers. You can keep score and track stats through the app. It is easy to navigate holes while playing since most of the time it will auto-advance. If you miss a score, just tap the top button and go to the score card.
Compared to a number of the other Garmin watches that have the golf feature, this is the least robust. It really just gives you basic yardages and green views, not the lush maps of the entire hole like the specific Garmin Approach Golf watches or even the Venu X1. It works great for golf, but more as a hobby than a serious feature.

Fitness Features
The Garmin Venu 4 Watch is a premium fitness watch. I couldn’t find an activity that is couldn’t track. I was hiking in Mexico, kayaking on the ocean, biking through my neighborhood, playing basketball at the gym, doing yoga in class, etc. Every fitness activity you enjoy, you can track with GPS, heart rate, elevation, stress, respiration, etc. I found that the combination of solid build, water proof and tracking allowed me to wear this watch all the time, no matter what activity I was doing.

Practical Functions
The Garmin Venu 4 Watch functions as in daily life with or without fitness, health or golf. It has all the digital features of a smart watch for message, music, payment, taking phone calls, getting the weather, etc. Again if you can think of a smart watch feature you are looking for, this one probably has it. I absolutely love the super bright LED flashlight. I never realized how much I was missing out on not having one. This watch can stay on your wrist for 12 days without needing a recharge (depending on how often you use all the features and play golf). Plus recharging takes less than an hour.

Summary
Garmin offers a wide variety of watches, each with a different person in mind. The Garmin Venu 4 Watch is certainly an ideal for for the active man or woman looking for a health and fitness smart watch that can keep up with their busy lifestyle and actually help them achieve their goals. It works great on the golf course too, even if it is more of a side feature. I’ve been wearing it every day since it arrived and it has a great chance at remaining on my wrist. The combination of features, battery life, style and comfort, along with health, fitness and golf make this an all around great watch.
