Golf and Fitness have become intertwined at both the professional and amateur level.

Having a watch that can keep up with your golf game, your fitness goals, and you every day life is one of the way that the Garmin Venu X1 Fitness Smartwatch might be Garmin’s best watch?

This watch is filled with all their best features along with being the biggest display they’ve ever made.

The super bright AMOLED screen with Sapphire glass is easy to read and durable during every activity.

I wore this watch every day for 4 weeks straight and tracked my sleep, my hikes, my golf scores as well as had access to the Garmin Golf app connectivity.

It is also very thin, lightweight and has over a week of battery life. Does the big display, the big features make this Garmin’s best watch?

This is my official Garmin Venu X1 Fitness Smartwatch Review.

Garmin Venu X1 Fitness Smartwatch

Big Golf Display

The AMOLED touchscreen of the Garmin Venu X1 Fitness Smartwatch is their biggest at 2″ square.

While golf might not be the main focus of this GPS watch, it certainly shines on the course.

The GPS is quick to connect, locate the course, and then track each shot, show clearly each hole, and offer detailed information.

Each hole can be zoomed in to check out yardages on bunkers or hazards.

If you know the pin location you can move it on the green for even more accurate distance.

It comes preloaded with over 43,000+ courses so you can play anywhere.

It keeps score, connects to the Garmin Golf app and functions automatically with only minimal input as necessary.

Slim and Lightweight

The Garmin Venu X1 Fitness Smartwatch is their thinnest and lightest watch.

This makes it very comfortable to wear even with the larger face size.

It feels really nice on the wrist and doesn’t have bulk or weight and is barely noticeable while wearing.

The two buttons control everything that you need in partnership with the touchscreen.

They are easy to use, but aren’t accidentally pushed even when wearing a golf glove.

The slim and lightweight design also reduces the battery size and life compared to other Garmin watches, but with a 9 day battery, you still rarely have to worry about your battery.

Plus 45 minutes on the charger will get it back to full life.

ComfortFit Nylon Strap

The Garmin Venu X1 Fitness Smartwatch comes with a ComfortFit Nylon Strap.

It is what I would call a loop over “Velcro” strap what is slim, lightweight and has just a little stretch.

When you loosen the closure and open it wide to put it over your hand, this one allows even a fairly large hand to slide through without completely removing the loop.

This is nice compared to some other Garmin ComfortFit nylon straps.

The “loop and hook” strap was easy to adjust and get comfortable every time you put it on and it never came undone while golfing, walking or sleeping.

Outdoor and Indoor Fitness Features

The Garmin Venu X1 Fitness Smartwatch is a premium fitness watch that you can use for tracking over 100 different activities.

I like to use it to track my morning workouts in the iGolfReviews office as well as outdoor activities Even when my phone loses a signal, the GPS on the watch along with the maps guide us hiking or riding.

Add to that all of the fitness and health tracking for stress, heart rate, breathing, sleeping, body battery, etc. this watch has your fitness tracked, recorded and advised what is needed to get better.

The rugged design holds up to moderate abuse.

The only downside is that the ComfortFit Nylon Strap absorbs some water when it gets wet.

Smartwatch Features

The Garmin Venu X1 Fitness Smartwatch can keep up in a digital world by combining built in features and connectivity.

It connects to both the Garmin golf app, and the Garmin Connect app.

This allows it to communicate with your smartphone for music, payment, phone calls, etc.

You can use many of those features right on the watch without getting your phone out.

I love the flashlight feature which isn’t just a bright screen, but an LED light that shines out the front of the wrist to really light up a path.

You can manipulate the face to look however your want, even purchasing “skins” to give it a fancier look.

Summary

I love that Garmin combined all of their best features into the Garmin Venu X1 Fitness Smartwatch.

It is lightweight, comfortable, golf ready, fitness tracking, adventure loving and still strong battery life.

It comes in black or moss green. If you are looking for their biggest screen, then this 2″ very bright and easy to use smartwatch is for you.

From a pure aesthetic standpoint I like their traditional round faces better, but it hard to deny how awesome this screen is for golf and fitness.

The lightweight design makes it really comfortable wearing it all day.

The slightly shorter battery life didn’t really impact any activity.

All things considered, this is probably the best watch in Garmin’s line up.
