The Sequel is The Best Cart Bag Because They Listened To Golfers
Sequels tend to disappoint because it is hard to capture and duplicate the original. However the Grit Golf Tower Cart Bag 2.0 jumped well in front of the original to the top of the golf cart bag mountain. It is the best cart bag for 2025 because they listened to real golfers. While the brilliant minds at Grit worked on the sequel they asked golfers like myself how to make it better. The finished product nailed it out of the park. While I sang the praises of the first golf tower, it had a few issues that have been resolved in the 2.0 model. While it might not be conventional, it certainly is the most functional and practical cart bag in 2025.

Square Golf Bag is Brilliant
The first Grit Golf Tower Cart Bag blew me away with the unique square design and the 2.0 is an improvement on this brilliant design. The space on power carts is a large rectangle designed to carry two bags. Why use round bags that leave so much space unused? The Grit Golf Tower Cart Bag 2.0 was slimmed down to better accommodate 2 bags on the cart, yet seems like it got bigger in terms of functional space and design. It rides perfectly and makes full use of the space. I’ve only received compliments when using this bag.
New 14-Way Top Is WAY Better
Yes I am a huge fan of 14-way tops, however the engineer at Grit did some overthinking on the first version. The triangle slots were great for reducing chatter, but not so great at the in and out of the clubs from the bag. The Grit Golf Tower Cart Bag 2.0 has the perfect cart bag top. The 3-4-4-3 combo is perfect for a full set and the large putter well work for the largest of grips. Club go in and out easily and they still don’t really chatter that much. The soft lined, full length dividers make clubs ride safely in their slot for all 18 holes.
Improved “Golf Shelf” and Cooler Pocket
The biggest benefit of a square cart bag is the huge amount of storage on the front of the bag. The Grit Golf Tower Cart Bag has a new 3 main pocket system is perfect for carrying everything you need during a round of golf. The middle “California closet” pocket or “golf shelf” pocket is reduced in size, but even more functional. The dividers and internal netted pocket keep everything organized and in place. The lower pocket is the perfect cooler pocket for holding a handful of beverages and ice for your round. The upper ball and range finder magnetic pull pocket is a flip up pocket so that you can slide the strap under it and still have quick access to the things you need.
Improved Functional Shape
From top to bottom they re-engineered this bag to retain all benefits of the original, while improving the function how it rides, how it stands off the cart, how it fits, how the pockets are accessible, how it carries and how it looks. They listen to real golfers and took the feedback and improved it in every way. The Grit Golf Tower Cart Bag 2.0 is the best cart bag for 2025 because of the functional design in the pockets, the 14-way top and the fit on the back of the cart, especially with 2 of them riding together.
New Racer Style
Golfers often purchase a golf bag because of how it looks, not how it functions. The Grit Golf Tower Cart Bag 2.0 offers a really cool racer style design and some new colors. There are 5 color options with 2 subtle stripes and 3 bold stripes: Navy and Blackout look almost stripeless while Gotham Grey, National and Cobalt are bright and bold. This new look is appealing and well executed without being too “in your face” but enough pop to make people notice. The trim is done to compliment the bags as well as the zippers and pulls.

Grit nailed the sequel by listening to golfers. The Grit Golf Tower Cart Bag 2.0 is the best cart bag for 2025. I’ve been impressed during all 6 rounds so far that I have used this bag. It fits perfectly on the cart, rides nicely in the truck bed, holds everything I need for a round of golf (and then some) and the new 14-way top is perfect for function. If you are tired of the same old round cart bag that passes up a whole bunch of storage space or jams it on the sides, the Grit Golf Tower Cart Bag 2.0 is the best design and function for cart bags.
