The brand Honma has been known for its ultra premium clubs which have retailed for some of the highest prices in the industry.

This has caused some golfers to overlook the brand assuming that they were too expensive.

The Honma TW Tour V Irons are a premium player’s iron that offers premium performance, exceptionally soft feel, great forgiveness, and excellent accuracy at a regular price.

Don’t sleep on Honma TW Tour V Irons because you think they are too expensive; their regular price point with premium performance should have these at the top the list for 2025 irons.

I tested them on-course for 7 rounds and ran them through launch monitor testing in the iGR Office by Carl’s Place DIY Simulators.

They check every players irons box for premium and performance irons.

This is my definitive Honma TW Tour V Irons Review.

Honma TW Tour V Irons

Premium Forgiveness

Player’s Irons and Forgiveness might not be synonymous terms but Honma did a creative and wonderful job of building in forgiveness into the Honma TW Tour V Irons.

The slight cavity back has just enough perimeter weighting that these irons are one of the most forgiving iron options out there when it comes to players irons.

They aren’t going to compete with game-improvement irons, but in the Player’s Irons category these are pretty easy to hit.

They have a nice launch, tend to fly really straight and can be a little less than perfect with great results.

This is certainly a reason to check these out if you are in the market for player’s irons.

Premium Feel

Feel is certainly a subjective part of golf clubs, but let’s be honest, there is nothing better than pureing a soft forged iron.

The Honma TW Tour V Irons are a 1-piece forged head from S20C carbon steel which makes them one of the softest irons you can buy.

That premium feel happens on every good shot with these clubs.

If you are hitting player’s irons, this kind of comes with the territory and these are one of the best feeling irons you can hit.

The combination of metal and minimal cavity makes for a super solid yet soft feeling iron.

Premium Turf Interaction

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, turf interaction is one of the biggest factors in good ball striking irons.

The Honma TW Tour V Irons have a C-Sole shape which means they are rounded in all the right places yet sharp enough to cut into the turf just enough for great ball compression.

I find the best irons I play always have great turf interaction and they offer premium turf interaction for compressing the ball without digging.

The leading edge relief and trailing edge grind both make the bottom of the sole take small, compact divots with dead center ball strikes.

Premium Irons Performance

What does premium performance look like?

The Honma TW Tour V Irons repeated hit the same shot so that you can trust the consistency.

Premium performance means that same distance, the same trajectory, the same dispersion, and same gapping from top to bottom of the set.

I found that the 4-iron through PW all offered consistent and repeated results.

The set was pretty much 10 yard gaps from the longest to the shortest iron.

They do offer player’s irons performance too which allows the golfer to manipulate the results through different swings and intentions, but if the intention was 100% power and straight, the performance was repeated.

Consistent performance leads to confidence.

Summary

The Honma TW Tour V Irons are premium player’s irons that shouldn’t be overlooked in 2025.

They offer everything low and mid handicap golfers are looking for in this category: good forgiveness, great feel, consistent results and premium all-around performance.

Don’t assume that these irons are too expensive because of the Honma name.

They come in at the same price as other OEM irons.

If you are looking to upgrade irons in 2025, these should be one of your top choices to demo.
