Honma TW-X & TW-S Golf Balls Review
Shockingly Awesome Golf Balls For A Surprisingly Great Price!!
I happily gamed the new Honma TW-X & TW-S Golf Balls over the course of 7 rounds.
I was blown away by the performance of these two different models and even more surprised by the price.
The Honma TW-X might just be the best golf ball of 2024.
The combination of launch, distance, feel and overall performance has me thinking about switching permanently.
The Honma TW-S is nearly as good just a little higher spin all around.
This is my definitive Honma TW-X & TW-S Golf Balls Review.

Honma Golf Balls?
Honma is not your household name when it comes to golf clubs and golf balls in the US.
They are a huge name brand in Japan.
Their D-1 Golf Balls are the best sellers there, but you’ll almost never find one here at a store or on the course.
They redesigned their entire ball line up for 2024.
Their two new cast urethane golf balls the TW-X and TW-S are premium golf balls designed to compete with the other premium golf balls on the market.
They probably aren’t going to unseat the #1 ball in golf anytime soon (nor is anyone else) but for golfers looking for a different ball, different dimple pattern and great performance, these are the surprise product of 2024.

$10,000 clubs Vs. $36 dozen golf balls
If you’ve heard of Honma it is probably because they make $10,000 sets of golf clubs with gold inlays and intricate artwork on them.
When I first heard that Honma had new golf balls for 2024 I expected to find something like $99 a dozen or even more since MSRP on other brands is pushing $60 a dozen now.
To my shock the TW-X and TW-S golf balls are $36 a dozen.
You read that right $36 A DOZEN!! Here is the information that Honma shares about these golf balls on their site:
- TW-X – Revolutionize your game’s distance and precision and enjoy premium feel.
- Three-piece urethane
- Advanced dimple design for unmatched distance
- Penetrating and consistent flight
- TW-S – Unleash Spin Mastery with Tour-Validated Precision.
- Three-piece urethane
- Low long game spin for ultimate control
- Advanced dimple design for a penetrating and consistent flight
The simple translation of that information is the TW-X is the distance ball and the TW-S is the spin ball.
But that doesn’t tell the whole story, keep reading to get the full details about these golf balls.

TW-X
The Honma TW-X Golf Ball has been one of the best performing golf balls on the course for my game.
I’ve shot 3 rounds in a row matching some of my best rounds recently.
The ball certainly has something to do with that because the distance and control.
I played in some very stiff wind too and this ball held its line amazingly well.
The 326 dimple pattern I believe have a lot to do with the performance along with the urethane cover and responsive core.
The ball launches pretty easily, but stays flat mid flight and has low spin.
The feel is amazing on every club. Not mushy, but not hard, that perfect middle.
Off the irons it has been dialed in to the proper distances, at times even being long.
The control on the short game is outstanding.
I’ve finished closer to the hole with this ball than normal.
The perfect balance of roll and check.
I don’t need every shot to stop instantly, nor do I want every shot rolling across the green.
That predictably roll out has been perfect.
I have my Flightscope MEVO+ numbers and on course testing to prove this ball is legit.

TW-S
The Honma TW-S golf ball is the spin version of their premium ball.
While it appears to be similar to the TW-X ball in terms of dimple pattern and design, the slightly different mid-layer generates more spin on every shot from tee to green.
I also shot really good scores with this ball, but the extra spin wasn’t necessary for my game.
I already spin the ball plenty, sometimes too much.
I lost just a couple yards off the tee and sometimes it stuck too much on the greens, instead of rolling out.
The numbers aren’t drastically different, but noticeable on the course.
The eye test and data suggest this is an ideal ball for someone who needs to generate more spin.
Off the putter is feels amazing and rolls very smoothly on the greens.

Summary
From the company that sells $10,000 golf clubs; their $36/dozen golf balls are some of the best in 2024.
The shocker isn’t just the price, but the Honma TW-X and TW-S are seriously great performing golf balls.
While you might not find these at every golf store or locally available at the shop, but direct through Honma they sell for $36/dozen which is hard to beat for any other premium ball.
