L.A.B Golf invaded the putter world with it’s zero torque technology. Now everyone is copying them. They started with some rather “ugly duckling” putters that were large, stable and lie angle balanced. They even converted a life long blade putter to using a mallet. The zero torque technology works to make more putts. But I still missed playing a blade style putter.

The L.A.B. Golf Link 2.2 Putter is the putter we’ve all been waiting for: a heel shafted blade with zero torque. They have essentially taken away every complaint or argument about why someone wouldn’t want to roll a L.A.B. Putter. Not only does this putter fit my eye, it makes even more putts with comfort and confidence which is why it is my gamer.

This is my official L.A.B. Golf Link 2.2 Putter Review.

L.A.B. Golf Link 2.2 Putter

Heel Shafted = Fits My Eye

L.A.B. Golf’s technology has been undeniable, but not every golfer gets along with a center shafted putter. They introduced a heel shafted model in the OZ1.i HS Putter, but that was still a mallet. The L.A.B. Golf Link 2.2 Putter is a heel shafted blade style putter that has a most traditional look from every angle. For a golfer who has played a blade style putter almost his entire life, this just fits my eye. When I pull it out of the bag, when I line it up, when I put it behind the ball, everything just feels right. It might not be a plumbers neck, but is as close as it can get.

Zero Torque = Think Less, Make More

The L.A.B. Golf Link 2.2 Putter has the same “think less, make more” motto since it is still zero torque even if it looks more traditional. You can put it in the same swivel handles to test if it stay perfectly square while other putters twist and rotate. The technology helps me think less and make more putts. Being a heel shafted blades also takes another mental hurdle out of they way. The comfort and confidence with a putter style that I’ve used for years just feels so natural in my hands and to my eyes.

Blade Style = Comfort and Control

The L.A.B. Golf Link 2.2 Putter is a wide body blade style putter made out of 303 stainless steel with a fly milled face and finished with a black PVD finish. It looks and feels great. The milling allows for an excellent feel and roll of the ball at impact. The wide body gives it just a little more stability as well as alignment line is longer. (they make the Link 2.1 which is a compact blade) It has no shaft lean so that you don’t have to make any adjustments or get used to the look and alignment with this putter. I feel comfortable and in control on the greens.

Link 2.2 Performance

The L.A.B. Golf Link 2.2 Putter became my gamer because it made more putts than any other putter I’ve used. But why does it make more putts? The Zero Torque technology works to keep this putter stable and steady throughout the entire stroke. It doesn’t pull or twist in my against my putting motion. The speed control with the blade style is also the best I’ve had because of the natural and comfortable weight and feel it offers. The alignment from set-up to completed stroke is so natural that is just feels right. Putting is often about confidence and this putter has my complete trust.

Summary

The L.A.B. Golf Link 2.2 Putter eliminates all the excuses that golfers have been using to avoid a L.A.B Golf putter. This putter checks all the boxes for my gamer: Heel Shafted, Blade Style, Zero Torque, Makes The Most Putts. Like all L.A.B. Golf putters you can get a stock version of it or you can totally customize it on their website with different shafts and grips. No colors at this time. (But I’d guess that they are coming in the future) This putter is staying in the iGR bag because it has the look I want, the comfort I need and makes the most putts.
