L.A.B Golf is making a name for itself by finding their way into the bags of tour pros and amateurs.

Their designs eliminate torque while putting which has potential to help all golfers.

I’ve gone “all-in” on L.A.B. Putters and the OZ.1i has been in my bag for 6 rounds.

It is competing head to head with the L.A.B. DF3 for the gamer spot.

Read why the L.A.B. OZ.1i is the hottest putter in golf.

This is my official L.A.B. Golf OZ.1i Putter Review.

LAB Golf OZ.1i Putter

Traditional Shape?

Since the beginning L.A.B. Golf has been more interested in balance and performance than they have been about shape.

Sure they have the Link.1 which is a blade putter head, but even that still has kind of funky look as well as the MEZZ and DF lines.

The collaboration with Adam Scott in the OZ.1i created their best looking and most traditionally shaped putter yet.

I love looking down at this putter with its mallet shape, angular lines and clean looks.

L.A.B. needed a more traditional shaped putter to attract the traditionalists out there.

I received numerous comments from readers about their difficulty putting with the DF3 putter because of the looks, even it it worked better.

The L.A.B. Golf OZ.1i Putter goes head to head with any mallet in the market when it comes to looks.

Face Insert

The L.A.B. Golf OZ.1i Putter is their first putter with a face insert.

The stainless steel insert gives the putter a firmer feel and honestly a faster roll.

When I call this the hottest putter in golf, it isn’t just because of all the buzz and sales; it is also because of the roll.

The combination of solid body and face insert meant that I never left a putt short.

That is no joke, this putter gets the ball moving on the green.

If you are a golfer that tends to leave putts short, this is the perfect solution.

The crisp feel is still very pleasant and muted.

The putter has a firm, solid feel without any harshness.

I also love how they did the insert without carving out the middle of the face leaving the potential of hitting the edges of the insert, but rather wrapped the insert from the bottom over the entire face.

Plus you can’t see it at address so all you see while putting is the body of the putter.

#UnTorqueYourself

L.A.B. stands for Lie Angle Balance.

It is a “torque-less” design so that you can putt freely without having the club twist or turn in your hands.

The L.A.B. popularity is being copied by just about every putter maker right now.

This is the sincerest from of flattery meaning that L.A.B is onto something in their designs.

I found that moving to a no torque putter took some adjustment and even if you go from one brand to another it could take some adjustment.

However moving from the L.A.B DF3 putter to the OZ.1i putter was as easy as it gets.

I found the torque free putting worked the same between the two putters

Now I’m just trying to figure out which one to game.

L.A.B Difference

Since everyone is doing some version of a zero-torque putter, what makes L.A.B. different?

Their Lie Angle Balance system remains the best version of torque free putters because of the way that they use weights for balance, set the shaft in the head, have the loft matched to the putting style, and the forward press grip.

You notice the bottom of full of various weights that are not adjustable but create balance for torque-less putting.

L.A.B. offers 2 different shaft angles in the OZ.1i with forward lean and vertical so you can match your preference.

They match all with loft so that you get the best roll on the ball.

L.A.B. just does it better when it comes to eliminating torque.

Press Pistol 2* Grip

This may be the most brilliant part of L.A.B. golf torque free putters is getting the handing into a forward press without felling like they are.

You can physically move your hands forward to accomplish this or just grab the Press Pistol 2* grip.

This is part of the genius behind the L.A.B. Golf OZ.1i Putter

The black version of this looks super stealthy with the black putter head and black shaft.

This is one of the technologies that sets L.A.B apart from other zero torque putters.

In their custom options they offer 1.5*, 2* and 3* options for more or less press.

I’m perfectly happy with the stock 2*.

Performance

The L.A.B. Golf OZ.1i Putter has been in my bag now for 6 rounds and it is HOT.

I’m making lots of putts and never leaving them short.

Going from the DF3 to the OZ.1i was an easy transition because they align and function the same.

However the additional speed of the OZ.1i is something to learn.

I couldn’t believe how many putts reached the hole and went past the hole.

The solid body and stainless insert certain transfer more energy into the ball.

I really like the combination of looks, feel and performance.

I putt really well with the DF3 so I’m trying to decipher the stats to see if the OZ.1i is better.

My scores have been good and my putt count per round is essentially the same, but which putter do I feel most confident over that 6 foot birdie putt to win the match?

Summary

If you haven’t tried a L.A.B. putter yet, the OZ.1i is their newest and best looking model.

You can get it with hundreds of different custom options or stock.

Once you learn how to putt with a torque free putter, you will watch more putts drop.

The L.A.B. OZ.1i is the hottest putter in golf right now, not only in popularity, but also on the greens with the stainless steel insert transferring more energy into each putt.

You aren’t going to leave putts short with this putter.

The buzz is real around these putters and I highly recommend rolling an OZ.1i in 2025.
