Payntr Eighty Seven SC Golf Shoes Review
Jason Day Helped Created One Of The Best Spiked Shoes That Keep Selling Out For a Reason
Collaborations are popular right now in every industry, especially golf. Often times it just feels like a celebrity or pro slaps their name on someone else’s design. The Payntr Eighty Seven SC Golf Shoes were actually co-designed by Jason Day giving them a true “Tour” influence. These are one of the best spiked golf shoes and keep selling out for a reason.
This is my definitive Payntr Eighty Seven SC Golf Shoes Review.

Jason Day’s Tour Influence
Tour players put their shoes through far more punishment than the regular golfer. I know they have access to new shoes pretty much whenever they want, but right out of the box they need to perform just as well as they after walking 72 holes. The new Payntr Eighty Seven SC Golf Shoes offer impressive support, comfort, traction and performance the same on hole 1 as they do on hole 72. These offer the perfect balance of all things that tour and amateur golfers need: a comfortable walk, support, good flex, lightweight and waterproof.
CARBITEX, PMXNitro+, and TPU Outsole
Starting where the rubber hits the road(grass) the Payntr Eighty Seven SC Golf Shoes are spiked for lock-down traction. The TPU outsole paired with Fast Twist spikes grip every surface nicely while still be thin for comfortable path walking. CARBITEX GearFlex™️ is the foot plate that is stiff yet flexes just enough to return energy into each step. The balance of lightweight, firm flex, means that your shoe resists twisting, but doesn’t get heavy and flexes just enough on each step. The PMXNitro+ is the dual cushion layer that keeps the walk light and soft. The impact on ankles, knees and hips while walking 18 holes and swinging is significant. The midsole and footbed by PMXNitro+ help reduce impact.

CLARINO Trivela™️ and ARIAPRENE®
If you have no idea what these 2 materials are, join the crowd. CLARINO Trivela™️ and ARIAPRENE® are the upper materials that replace traditional leather. These microfiber uppers and tongue look like leather, but perform even better. They have a breathability that is awesome in the AZ desert, while still being waterproof when we have wet conditions. What impressed me the most is how little these shoes changed from 1st hole to 72nd hole. Leather tends to require break-in. These were ready to go right out of the box, but then remained the same fit without stretching over time and use. These microfiber materials paired with waterproof membranes make these shoes ready to take on any course conditions.

On-Course Performance
I’ve moved mostly to spikeless golf shoes because of the combination of comfort and daily use. While the Payntr Eighty Seven SC Golf Shoes are spiked, they are the closest to spikeless shoes I’ve worn. The sole is smooth and flat so that you don’t feel elevated on the spikes. The walk is really flexible yet grippy. It still requires changing shoes at the course, but the support, the comfort, the waterproof, and traction actually make it worth it. I understand why these shoes keep selling out.

Summary
Jason Day and Payntr designed a legit tour shoe that offers everything from traditional looks to high tech performance and features. All of those fancy names above boil down to an awesome pair of golf shoes that offer right out of the box comfort that doesn’t change over time, excellent support from a lightweight shoe, and lock-down spiked traction. It isn’t just Jason Day’s name attached to the Payntr Eighty Seven SC Golf Shoes that makes them sell out, but the performance.
