PXG Secret Weapon Mini Driver Review
Is This The Secret To More Fairways and Lower Scores?
Do you need to hit more fairways?
While you can hit 3-woods, hybrids and irons off the tee, giving up that much yardage compared to driver can make approach shots more challenging.
The PXG Secret Weapon Mini Driver offers almost driver distance with precision fairway finding accuracy.
That combo means you aren’t giving up much distance so approach shots are still manageable and you are hitting more fairways which leads to lower scores.
I was fit by PXG for the Secret Weapon Mini Driver, I then played it on the course for 7 rounds and tested it in the iGR Office by Carl’s Place Simulator.
The Secret Weapon is staying in my bag because I’m shooting lower scores.
This is my definitive PXG Secret Weapon Mini Driver Review.

What is a Mini Driver?
While Mini Drivers aren’t new for 2025, they have certainly seen a resurgence with just about every brand making one.
As you can see from the above pictures it fall between a driver and 3-wood in size, height, etc.
While that might not seem like a big deal, it is surprisingly valuable on the golf course.
My fitter at PXG explained it like this: The PXG Secret Weapon Mini Driver is designed to consistently go super straight, hit just shorter than your driver, but more distance than you 3-wood.
You can hit a target landing zone with accuracy every time.
For me it is a 250 yard club.
Think height, consistency, easy, straight, and soft landings.

Launch It
The PXG Secret Weapon Mini Driver is an absolute cannon off the tee.
I was impressed by how easy, how straight and how consistently the ball rockets off the face down the middle of the fairway.
The 13* loft keeps the spin in a moderate range and still gets the ball quickly in the air.
I found that I could tee it up half the height of driver and swing for the fences.
The ball just launches every time with a fairly high flight, a soft and landing and good distance.
The sound and feel are in between a driver and 3-wood too, more solid like a 3-wood with just a touch of hollow like a driver.

Fit For A Fairway Finder
PXG has always promoted fitting and once again revealed the benefit of doing so with the PXG Secret Weapon Mini Driver.
I went to the PXG store in Mesa, AZ for this fitting.
I was consistently struggling with a fade in the hitting bay.
We got the weights moved to counteract that, we dialed in the Diamana+ Shaft and got the best numbers indoors we could.
When the club arrived a few days later, it was better on the course than it was in the simulator.
The soft fade was replaced by perfectly straight shots every time on the course.
All it does is find fairways.
The launch is high, the landing soft and has what I call mid-spin.

Summary
The PXG Secret Weapon Mini Driver has changed the game.
It really is the secret club in my bag that finds fairways, goes high, straight and long enough to make some par 5s reachable in 2 and almost always a reasonable iron in on par 5s.
When you drop the ball at 250 repeatedly, it puts a lot less pressure on your iron play and recovery game.
I’d highly recommend getting fit for PXG Secret Weapon because the adjustable weights can be set to your needs, and getting into the right shaft can be very helpful too.
This club is in the bag to stay.
