RypRadar 2.0 Swing Speed Radar Review
Easiest Way To Track Speed Gains With Your Rypstick
The Rypstick app walks you through the training modules for increasing swing speed through various exercises. After each session they ask for your swing speed. While there are multiple different tools out there to capture how fast you swing the club, the RypRadar 2.0 is the easiest version to use. It is one button to turn on and off and then set it down close to where the ball would be and swing away. Each swing is displayed so that you can post it to the app. While the gains are going to be most exciting on the golf course, it is really helpful to see the real numbers attached to those speed gains with this very easy to use swing speed radar.

Fast and Easy
The RypRadar 2.0 is just a little bit bigger than 2 stacked cellphones. It will easily fit in any golf bag so that you can take it with you if you training at the range. I use mine in the IGR Office by Carl’s Place DIY Simulator. It is a simple device with a kick stand. There is a single button on the face below the display. You simple turn it on, place it 8-10 inches from where a ball would be when you swing. All you have to do then is watch the display after each swing to see the speed. You can swing almost continuously and it will reach each one. It works when you do weak hand swings too so you don’t need to adjust anything, just swing the other direction. I compared it to expensive launch monitors and the swing speed numbers were very close on every shot. It makes this an economical way to track progress.

Speed For The App
When it comes to training aids I want something that produces results and is quick and easy to use. The RypRadar 2.0 paired with a Rypstick means that in the time it takes me to open the app, get the Rypstick out of the golf bag, I can push the power button and set it down and I’m ready to start training. While you can train without a swing speed radar, but it really reduces your knowledge about what is happening. Tracking progress on the app is key to success. It helps with accountability and if you aren’t seeing gains on the course, there could be a reason during your training sessions that can be discovered if you are tracking your speed. I think it is really cool to hear numbers over 120mph when swinging a club since that sounds like “pro” speed. While it would be awesome if it was connected directly to the app, but how simplistic this unit is means it is easy and works every time with connection issues. It only takes a second to look down see the speed and punch it into the app for tracking progress.

Summary
If you are going to increase you swing speed by using a Rypstick training aid, I highly recommend getting the combo with a RypRadar 2.0 so that you can fully track your progress and speed. It is quick, easy, reliable and accurate. You can quickly and easily see your speed and type it into the app after each session. It runs on a few AA batteries which are simple and easy to replace. While $1000’s launch monitors have their place for training too, the simple RypRadar 2.0 is the easiest way to track your swing speed. I highly recommend the combo purchase for the best deal too. The speed gains will be seen on the RypRadar 2.0 first and then when you get to the course, that new found speed will show itself in longer drives.
