Accuracy – Check. Built in Cart Magnet – Check. Target-Lock Vibration – Check. On/Off Slope – Check. Clear Optics – Check. 6x Magnification – Check. Replaceable Battery – Check. IndependentGolfReviews Logo – Check. The new Shot Scope Pro X Laser Rangefinder checks every box and has cool stock name plates or can be customized with your favorite logo. I used the Pro X for 5 rounds this spring and have been impressed by far more than the cool name plate, but the ease of use, accuracy and features make this a great choice to be your go-to rangefinder to golf distances.

This is my official Shot Scope Pro X Laser Rangefinder Review.

Shot Scope Pro X Laser Rangefinder

Customizable Plate

The customizable name plate of the Shot Scope Pro X Laser Rangefinder is going to be the main reason golfers buy this laser. There are 10 “stock” plates they offer in ready to ship packages or if you have a logo, business or name you want on this laser you can order custom ones. (they do have a minimum order of 6.) The plates pop on and off pretty easy so that you could change it out for a different one. (however currently they don’t sell name plates separately) This really makes your laser stand out in a crowd. I LOVE the Independent Golf Review Logo on the side of this laser.

Laser Function

While GPS or Laser rangefinders is a debate unto itself, this laser functions like all other lasers. There is power button on the top and a mode button. The power button is also your distance button. Press it down and acquire distance. The Shot Scope Pro X sends out a laser waits for it to bounce back and then gives you the distance. The eye piece is adjustable by twist for focus to your eye. It fits nicely in hand and offers a nice balance between size, weight and shape. It checks the laser function box.

Clear Optics

The key to any laser rangefinder is being able to get distance and display distance clearly and concisely. The Shot Scope Pro X Laser Rangefinder is clear to see targets, has 6x zoom to focus on the flag and then offers clear black LCD numbers so that you know the line of sight distance as well as slope adjusted distance (if using slope). I found it easy to see and read in both bright and low light conditions. It checks the optic box.

Battery Life

The replaceable CR2-3V battery in the Shot Scope Pro X Laser Rangefinder is kind of the go-to for laser rangefinders and usually last for an entire golf season. I’ve used this laser for 5 rounds and still full charge. I would expect this battery to last plenty long and with the accessibility to these batteries is easy and quick to change; no cords, no plugs, just a quick battery swap to be good to go for another season. I still kind of gravitate toward the battery since it is easy to keep a spare on hand.

Box Checking Features

Some features that used to be new, fancy or only found on a few high-end laser rangefinders are now common to just about every golf laser rangefinder. The Shot Scope Pro X Laser Rangefinder has those box checking features that everyone expects to be found in new models. The built in cart battery is strong and holds it in place, even on the bumpiest of terrain. On/off slope is standard. Pin vibration is required. This laser has the features all golfers are looking for at a solid price plus the customizable name plate.

Summary

Shot Scope nailed it with all the box checking features and the customizable name plate all at $199. If you want to spice up your boring laser rangefinder, this is the best option to show off your brand without sacrificing any laser features. It looks cool and functions just as good as it looks. If one of their 10 stock plates works then you can get it quickly, otherwise you might to get 6 to show off your personal brand or logo. Either way the laser is really solid and a great value for the price. Shot Scope continues to impress with their form, function and price. This one checks all the boxes.
