The Srixon ZXi5 Irons are the “Goldilocks” of irons because they blend together the perfect combination of looks, feel, power, and forgiveness that both a low handicap golfer can play as well as a higher handicap golfer. I gamed the ZXi5 irons for the last 4 rounds of golf as my mid irons in a Srixon combo set. I hit the 6-iron and 7-iron paired with ZXi4 and ZXi7 irons in the rest of the set. The ZXi5 irons are similar to previous models, but even better feeling and more consistent. The offer the “just right” combination in every performance category. If you are looking for new irons in 2025, these should be at the top of the list to try.

This is my definitive Srixon ZXi5 Irons Review.

Srixon ZXi5 Irons

I-Forged Feel

The Srixon ZXi5 Irons are their player’s distance model within the ZXi line. This growing category is all about irons that look and feel like a player’s club, but offers more forgiveness and distance than typically associate with such irons. The ZXi5 are that “just right” blend of a compact looking iron, but plenty of forgiveness and feel. The feel is the biggest improvement in the ZXi5 irons compared to their predecessors. The i-forging process uses even softer steel and through their methodology and heat treatments gets a more consistent, more solid, hotter and softer club. It gives them elite feel on shots while still having a huge sweet spot.

V-Sole For Perfect Turf Interaction

The Srixon ZXi5 Irons have a mid-thick V-sole which is the best sole for turn interaction. The V-sole means I can take a small divot and still exit the turf after a clean strike on the ball. The bounce on the front and back of the sole make for perfect turf interaction which is vital for clean mid-iron shots. I continue to believe that is one part of irons that is often overlooked by golfers, they worry more about the cavity than the sole. The ZXi5 irons hit that sweet spot again with being thin enough to be called a “player’s” iron, but thick enough to offer forgiveness and confidence to a wide variety of handicaps.

Blending Forgiveness and Power for “Just Right” Performance

I only gamed these clubs in the 6-iron and 7-iron so I can’t speak to a full bag of these, but I hit numerous shots with these during my 5 rounds of golf. If I play from the back tees, these irons get a fair about of work because approach shots and par 3s end up in that 175-155 range. I found these clubs really easy to hit and very forgiving for as compact as they look at address. They aren’t crazy long, but pretty much in line with other “player’s distance” irons. I didn’t have to adjust, I just swung with confidence. They actually work super well in the combo set transitioning from the ZXi4 irons to the ZXi7 irons. My bag just goes from max forgiveness to max feel. The ZXi5 are the “just right” in the middle blending forgiveness, feel and performance. These have the mainframe body which offers enough weight low, and balance throughout the head for solid shots on less than perfect swings.

Summary

The Srixon ZXi5 Irons are the perfect irons for a wide range of golfers from low handicap to high handicap with plenty of forgiveness, awesome forged feel, great looks, and power. I think they work great in combo with the ZXi4 for long irons maximizing forgiveness, paired with the ZXi7 irons to maximize control. However I could easily play a whole bag of the ZXi5 irons an be completely happy. Don’t sleep on Srixon, they make some of the best irons in 2025. The ZXi5 irons are the “Goldilocks” irons for golfers wanting the “just right” combo of forgiveness, power, feel and looks.
