Sun Mountain ClubGlider Meridian Travel Bag Review
The Best Travel Bag: You Don’t Know What You Are Missing Until You Try One.
One of the most exciting days in a golfers year is packing up their golf gear and heading to the airport.
You know that for the next few days you will be enjoying a golf trip. You’ve planned this trip out with buddies or family so that you can enjoy some time off work playing golf at your favorite resort.
While you could rent clubs when you get there, it isn’t the same as playing your “gamers” for these special rounds of golf.
However, the excitement is also balanced with the headache of getting your club to and from the airport safely and easily.
The Sun Mountain ClubGlider Meridian Travel Bag is the best travel bag you will ever use. You can’t really know how great it is until you use one.
I’ve used a dozen different travel bags over the years, and thankfully they have all carried my clubs safely to and from my destinations.
However none of them are as easy and convenient to use as the ClubGlider.
I’m never going back to other travel bags after using this one, it is simply the best.
This is my official Sun Mountain ClubGlider Meridian Travel Bag Review.

ClubGlider Leg Mechanism
This is the one feature that sets the Sun Mountain ClubGlider Meridian Travel Bag apart from all other travel bags.
All travel bags have 2 wheels on them, some now even have 4 on the base, but this one is the only bag with a folding leg mechanism with 2 wheels on the bottom of the legs for standing and rolling this travel bag with ease, even when fully loaded.
It is essentially like stand bag legs on wheels for a travel bag.
They pull down to deploy and then return into the base of the bag with another pull down.
The mechanism is pretty tight, but that is ok considering the abuse travel bags take.
Once the legs are out, this bag rides at the perfect angle for pulling through the airport from your car to the counter or from baggage claim to the rental car.
When you need to put them in the trunk or get them ready for the plane the legs fold bag into the back/base of the travel bag so that they won’t catch on anything during travel.
The bag will stand nicely without the leg down too.

Meridian Size
There are currently 2 sizes of Sun Mountain ClubGlider travel bags: Meridian and Pro.
I think for 95% of golfers the Meridian is going to be the perfect size.
The Pro allows you to travel with a staff bag, but since most of us travel with something much smaller than that, the Meridian is going to be the best choice.
It is kind of that “goldilocks” size of not too big and not too small.
It easily holds a stand or cart bag with plenty of space for shoes, gear and clothing.
It fits nicely in trunks and pick-up beds. It also folds in half when not in use for decent storage.
It isn’t a Sun Mountain Cube, but still not so huge you can’t find a place to put it between trips.

Club Protection
The Sun Mountain ClubGlider Meridian Travel Bag offers excellent club and bag protection withstanding the abuse by baggage handlers.
The size helps so that everything stays relatively tight when packed.
This helps keep loose material getting caught on things at the airport.
The top has extra padding around the club head area so that even if it is dropped your clubs won’t be damaged.
I still recommend a brace or arm or something to keep the top of the bag stiff so that your driver is protected or even just the shaft if you take your clubs apart for travel.
The base of the bag is super sturdy and strong with the leg mechanism well protected while traveling too.
You can be confident your bag and clubs will arrive safely at your destination.

50lbs Travel With Ease
The Sun Mountain ClubGlider Meridian Travel Bag allows you to travel easily right at the weight limit for checked bags.
I fill this thing up right to the 50lbs limit with clubs, gear, clothing and whatever else I need for the trip.
The Meridian is just the right size as I mentioned earlier for hitting that limit without going over.
The leg mechanism makes it super easy to maneuver 50lbs through any crowd at the airport.
You can pull on the top easily even with a backpack and another suitcase.
You can’t say that with other travel bags as the handle cuts into your hand and your shoulder gets really tired if it is a long walk from baggage claim to the rental car.

Summary
I’m never going bag to a travel bag without legs. The Sun Mountain ClubGlider Meridian Travel Bag is the best travel bag because of that along with being the perfect size for carrying everything you need for a trip without being too big and bulky.
It comes in 7 colors which I also highly recommend getting something other than black so that you can easily spot your bag at baggage claim.
(I got green to match my Jeep)
While other travel bags will get your clubs safely to their destination too, the ClubGlider is by far the easiest way to do it.
Take some of the stress and effort out of getting your clubs to and from the airport with this travel bag.
