Sun Mountain Ridgeline 3 Push Cart Review

My favorite way to play 18 holes is walking with a push cart.

It creates the best pace of play while connecting to the course on every step.

Over the last 4 years the explosion of push carts and bag has created unique sizes and combination.

Not all bags work with all carts; until now.

The Sun Mountain Ridgeline 3 Push Cart is fully adjustable meaning it can carry any size bag for all 18 holes securely and easily.

This is my definitive Sun Mountain Ridgeline 3 Push Cart review.

Sun Mountain Ridgeline 3 Push Cart

Adjustable Push Cart?

All push carts are adjustable right?

While most have adjustable straps; how the bag rides and what bag fits varies from cart to cart.

The Sun Mountain Ridgeline 3 Push Cart can fit a giant staff bag as well as a tiny junior bag.

No other cart can accommodate both sizes and do it securely. The sliding upper bracket is the key to a perfect fit.

It can be slid up and down the center rail so that the bracket will hit in just the right spot for a secure, twist-free ride on this cart.

As you can see above I adjusted it to fit a full size cart bag and a small junior bag.

It really is a one size fits all push cart.

Stainless Steel Parts

Most golfers don’t  replace their push carts until something breaks.

One of the reasons they break is either cheap parts or corrosion.

The Sun Mountain Ridgeline 3 Push Cart uses numerous stainless steel screws, bearings and levers.

This means that it is built to last.  Not only will it last, but right out of the box everything just has a high quality fit and finish.

The wheel bearings are some of the best I’ve used with a super smooth roll.

The lower sliding lever opens and closes nicely. The upper bracket lever also clamps the bag bracket in place securely.

This cart will serve you well for many seasons even if you switch out bags.

New Features

Sun Mountain didn’t just throw an adjustable bag bracket on an old cart, but built a new cart with numerous new features.

The console has a phone/GPS holder which keeps that in plain sight while pushing.

The handle is a molded plastic which is surprisingly comfortable even though it is hard.

The large lid opens to a storage space that has a soft liner as well as ball holders.

The net basket is ready for some loose stuff.  The umbrella holder is also adjustable for any angle.

The new bag straps are stretchy, but have a clip which is ideal for setting them securely to your bag.

Sun Mountain has stuck with the pull lever brake for a single back wheel braking system.

It works well for holding the cart in place even on a hill. The 2 fold and unfold levers work easily to open and close the cart.

Rolling Down the Fairway

When the wheels of the Sun Mountain Ridgeline 3 Push Cart hit the turf you immediately notice some differences compared to other carts.

The first is how easy it rolls.

The airless tires paired with the stainless steel bearings make this cart push extremely easy down the fairway.  The high clearance makes it easy to push through the rough as well.

The vertical way that the bag rides makes it easy to get clubs in and out.

It also creates a really nice center of gravity for balance.

The long push handle is nice for both space, but also for pushing keeping the clubs and wheels away from your feet and body.

It is one of the easiest and most comfortable pushes on the course.

The weight feels lighter than the actual lbs say because of how easily it pushes. The 3-wheel stability and balance kept this cart from tipping on hills, yet easy to steer.

Summary

Sun Mountain solved a number of common push cart issues with a sturdy, functional and well-built cart that can accommodate both the largest and smallest golf bags.

Walking 18 holes is the most enjoyable way to play golf and using a Sun Mountain Ridgeline 3 Push Cart is a great long term investment in walking.

Your bag is guaranteed to fit while rolling smoothly down the fairways with ease.

The new design features work great having all the functions and accessories golfers are looking for.

Pick your favorite of their 6 colors and get walking with this new adjustable push cart.
