Takomo IGNIS Fairway Woods Review
Impressed by IGNIS Power, Forgiveness, and Accuracy
I played the Takomo IGNIS Fairway Woods for 6 rounds this fall and they are impressive. I found them fully capable of competing with the big name fairway woods. The combination of power, forgiveness and accuracy will change your mind on DTC fairway woods. Honestly, you might want to consider gaming one. I tested these fairway woods on-course, and in the IGR Office by Carl’s Place DIY Simulators.
This is my definitive Takomo IGNIS Fairway Woods Review.

DTC Fairway Woods
The driver and fairway woods market is dominated by big OEMs. DTC brands like Takomo have done an amazing job in the iron business, but until now have struggled to crack into the woods side of golf. The IGNIS line looks, feels and plays equal to any OEM on the market. They offer excellent stock shafts from Project X. They look good and play just as good on the golf course.

IGNIS Technology
Takomo does in-house design work for all their clubs. The IGNIS line is really good looking from any direction. The matte black carbon crown looks good at address. The sleek black sole looks as good as anything on the market in the bag. The adjustable hosel means you can dial it in to your specific needs. They offer a “slot” technology for good forgiveness. I really liked the adjustable weight too. I went up to the 25gram weights in both the 3 and 5 wood. I like the extra weight and launch.

3-Wood & 5-Wood
Playing higher lofted woods is the new fad. 5-woods and 7-woods are all the rage on tour. I used to play a 5-wood “back in the day” but had moved to hybrids because of their shorter shaft and ease of hitting. However, I think that the Takomo IGNIS 5-Wood might be staying in my bag because of how easy it is to hit and how accurate it is. The 3-wood is equally impressive off the tee and from the fairway. The shape inspires confidence behind the ball and just hits the ball so straight. They offer a nice gap between the 240 yard 3-wood and 220 yard 5-wood.

Impressive Performance
Golfers are looking for fairway woods that launch the ball high, go straight and have good carry distance. The Takomo IGNIS Fairway Woods check every box of on course performance that golfers are looking for. I am impressed by their ease of performance. I didn’t feel like I had to manipulate the club or adjust what I was doing, I could just swing freely to achieve excellent results. I went heavy weight for higher launch and heavier head. If you’d rather go light to pick up some speed that is easily done too. But really the best aspect I found was the consistency. I loved seeing the same flight and the same results shot after shot.

Summary
Don’t sleep on Takomo IGNIS Fairway Woods. They really are impressive with their powerful feel, great looks and consistent results. You can adjust them to your specific needs and easily jump on the higher lofted fairway woods fad. I think the 5-wood is staying in my bag for long approach shots and narrow fairways. Don’t be afraid to try this DTC brand; Takomo has really done a great job with their irons and now their woods.
