TaylorMade Qi35 Hybrid Review
TaylorMade Dropped Their Tour Hybrid; Can This Replace It?
As a golfer who fights spin and launch, I was a little bit surprised that TaylorMade dropped the tour model in the Qi35 hybrid.
They went with Qi35, Qi35 MAX or Qi35 MAX Lite. While the tour model maybe gone, can the regular Qi35 replace it?
You can see that that weight has been pushed forward, and it is fairly compact, but is that enough?
I’ve gamed the TaylorMade Qi35 Hybrid for 7 rounds and found myself hitting long, high launching and straight shots off the tee, from the fairway and even out of the rough.
Was the spin low enough to replace a tour model? I also did some controlled environment testing in the iGR Office by Carl’s Place Simulator.
While there isn’t a tour model in the Qi35 hybrid, you might just you find the benefits of more forgiveness and larger size what you need.
This is my definitive TaylorMade Qi35 Hybrid Review.

Weight Forward
The TaylorMade Qi35 Hybrid has the the weight forward, which is actually closer to the face than the Qi10 Tour hybrid.
This keeps the spin and launch down, even though this isn’t the tour model.
I really liked the feel, launch and spin of the Qi35.
Because of the changes they made, there probably isn’t a need for the tour model.
It isn’t too demanding to hit, and didn’t want to go left so from a golfer’s perspective they moved much of the performance of the tour model into the regular Qi35 Hybrid.
If you are coming from a previous version of TaylorMade’s tour hybrids, don’t fear this non-tour model, it can keep up with lower spin and launch.

Twist Face Forgiveness
The face of the TaylorMade Qi35 Hybrid retains their “Twist Face” technology which offers one of the most forgiving faces in a hybrid.
It isn’t too high toe but more of a square face hybrid.
You can hit it just about anywhere on the face and it retains speed and trajectory.
I found myself gaining confidence on every shot and swinging harder and harder without fear of misses.
I don’t really need that much workability in my hybrid so moving to a non-tour model with more forgiveness is actually a good move for my game hitting more greens and fairways.

Compact Enough?
The TaylorMade Qi35 Hybrid is their most compact model but it is bigger than the Qi10 Tour Hybrid.
However at address the Qi35 hides the extra CCs well with the grey carbon crown paired with the black face line.
The way the back of the club wraps down toward the ground keeps it from looking too big.
The sole is bigger but I didn’t find myself worrying about the slightly bigger overall size of this hybrid.
If you really want a compact, iron-like hybrid, TaylorMade offers Utility Irons.

Summary
The TaylorMade Qi35 Hybird might not have a “Tour” model, but the regular Qi35 offers many of the features of the tour model like low spin, lower launch, and controllable flight, but offers it with more forgiveness and straighter trajectory.
The combination of weight forward and hidden size make this a “tour-like” club in a more forgiving version.
So even if you are used to playing a tour version of a TaylorMade Hybrid, you will find similar qualities in an easier to hit version.
However mid-handicap golfers will still be able to hit this without the demands of a tour version.
This is one of the more versatile hybrids made for 2025.
If you are looking to upgrade your hybrid, this one fits a wide range of golfers from tour to regular golfers.
