TaylorMade has dominated the fairway wood market for a few years now, ever since the RBZ challenge of the additional 17 yards from a fairway wood was launched. They remain the #1 fairway wood on tour. But in order to maintain that position it takes innovation year after year.

In 2026, TaylorMade stepped up their game again with the new Qi4D fairway woods by refining attributes that are already good and giving you just a touch more. The TaylorMade Qi4D Tour 3-Wood is a totally redesigned tour model meant to be more adjustable while still being one of the fastest and longest 3-woods you can play. The tour name implies that this is a serious club. While it might not be for everyone, those with a consistent swing and are seeking max distance, this club delivers. I played it on the course for 8 rounds and tested it in the iGR Office by Carl’s Place Simulator.

This is my definitive TaylorMade Qi4D Tour 3-Wood Review.

TaylorMade Qi4D Tour 3-Wood

Tour Model Qi4D

Which TaylorMade Fairway Wood model is best for you? There are 4 models of each Qi4D Fairway Wood: Tour, Core, Max and Max Lite. While they are somewhat self-explanatory, they go from lower spin to higher spin, least forgiving to most forgiving, longest to easiest. The TaylorMade Qi4D Tour 3-Wood was redesigned for 2026 by switching up the adjustability. They had used a large tungsten sliding weight, now they returned to their 3 weight ports. They are set a the extreme corners of the sole. They offer a fade, draw or high bias. This max adjustability is going to great for the most demanding of golfers.

Pure Performance

The TaylorMade Qi4D Tour 3-Wood is all about performance. The titanium face and carbon crown create one of the hottest 3-wood heads. This thing is a rocket launcher. The ball explodes off the face. That performances can be tailored to your needs with the adjustable weights. I was torn between the heavy weight back and heavy weight in the heel. With the heavy weight back I got higher launch while with heavy weight in the heel I got less fade. Either way, this club isn’t going to win any forgiveness competitions, but if you’ve got a consistent swing and want some distance, this club is king.

3-Wood Needs

When picking a 3-wood for your bag, it really depends on what you need. It shouldn’t just be I have x driver so I should get the matching 3-wood. It should fit between your driver and hybrid or 5-wood. The TaylorMade Qi4D Tour 3-Wood is one of the longest 3-woods out there so if you aren’t getting max distance out of your driver, this thing could creep up on that. This isn’t quite mini-driver, but close with how long it is off the tee. If you need the longest 3-wood to reach par 5s in two this is a perfect fit.

While this is their most demanding 3-wood, TaylorMade included proven technologies like TwistFace and Speed Pocket to go with their new shaft line by Mitsubishi called REAX which is about club rotation. Depending on your swing profile and how you attack the ball and when you release the club. It isn’t about skill but swing. Both low and high handicap golfers can use the same shaft if their release point in the same. Check out the new High Rotation, Mid Rotation or Low Rotation profiles.

Summary

The TaylorMade Qi4D Tour 3-Wood offers tour like performance which means you need to bring some resemblance of a tour like swing. You don’t have to be a scratch golfer to maximize this club, but this isn’t the most forgiving model, it is the fastest, most adjustable and longest model. If it fits your needs, it is absolutely amazing. TaylorMade fairway woods are loved on tour and there is a reason for that, this one just proves that amateur golfers can love it too.
