REVIEW: TecTecTec ULT-G GPS Watch

Everything You Want In GPS Golf Watch
Most golfers need to know 3 yardages, front, middle and back of the green. If you have those yardages, you can pretty much figure out the club you need to hit on 90% of shots. You want those yardages to be accurate, easy to ready and of course appropriate for the course and hole you are playing. Color maps can be nice, fancy touch screen displays might help you navigate the information, but honestly, the simple information is all that most golfers need to choose a club and make the swing. Since the large percentage of golfers don’t break 90, do we really need to know that on the back 1/4 of the green it slopes from left to right? TecTecTec made a GPS watch that has everything you need and nothing you don’t. Not only does it cover the yardages you need, it will hold a charge for multiple rounds.
A GPS golf watch is the quickest way to get distances on the course.  While I might be a laser rangefinder guy, watches are probably the best option for most golfers.  It doesn’t matter where you are on the course, it doesn’t require line of sight, it isn’t set down or picked up; you where it for every shot and always have distance at the ready.  TecTecTec ULT-G GPS watch is the most economical version of GPS golf watches.  While it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of more expensive watches, it has what you need and nothing else.

I tested the TecTecTec ULT-G against a couple other GPS watches as well as my laser rangefinder and found the yardages to be within a yard +/- of other units.  I didn’t have a single hole that the TecTecTec watch gave me wrong information.  I did have one time that the hole didn’t advance on the next tee, but that was because the back tee location was actually behind the previous green it didn’t know I had finished the hole and moved on to the next.  This was however solved quickly with the push of a couple buttons.

The TecTecTec ULT-G GPS watch is pretty self explanatory.  You clip on the charging cord (which is nice the way it secures to the watch) and after it is fully charged, you are ready to play golf.  Press the satellite button and as long as you are outside, it will find you within a few minutes and give you a couple course choices if there are others nearby.  Select your course and you are good to go for all 18 holes.  The other buttons help you navigate water hazards and bunkers if you need to navigate those on drives or approaches.  The only feature I couldn’t figures out without looking up was the power off.  It requires you to hold the down arrow for at least 4 seconds and then allows you to power it off.  If you don’t it will run the battery out sitting in your golf bag until your next round.

At $119, you won’t find a better deal on a GPS golf watch.  The TecTecTec ULT-G GPS watch is perfect for the golfer looking for accurate information, without complex screens, too much information or subscription fees.  It is the fastest way to get yardages on the golf course.  It really does give you what you need in a simple comfortable watch that is easy to read in any light.  This is just another good product from TecTecTec that lets you get what you need while saving money for greens fees.
