Titleist GT3 Driver Review

The Titleist GT3 Driver won the “Gamer” spot in my bag during the last 6 rounds of golf.

After getting fit for it by the local Titleist fitter, I have started hitting the ball longer and straighter.

I also tested it in the IGR Office by Carl’s Place DIY Simulators

The combination of on-course testing and FlightScope numbers proved the new Titleist GT3 Driver is the best fit for my swing and needs off the tee.

It offers low spin, strong launch and ample forgiveness.

This is my definitive Titleist GT3 Driver Review.

GT Tech

Titleist finally jumped on the carbon fiber construction material for drivers

But in true Titleist fashion they are doing it slightly different than other brands with a seamless “Thermoform Crown”.

This is an “ultra-lightweight design, born from a new Proprietary Matrix Polymer.”

It allows Titleist to move more weight around for CG manipulation while still offering pure Titleist feel, looks and performance.

They offer this new tech in 3 drivers: GT2, GT3 and GT4.

Get Fit

When it comes to golf clubs, I know what I need.

I need something that is going to lower my launch, lower my spin and still offer some forgiveness.

In previous versions of Titleist drivers I was fit into the 4 model for the lowest spin.

However it isn’t the most forgiving model in the line.  We dialed in a GT3 for the combination of forgiveness and lower spin.

This also means I went with the 8.0* head.

Then we concluded that the Graphite Design AD-UB 6 Stiff shaft was the most consistent results swing after swing.

The feel of a Graphite Design shaft is unmatched and the low spin, easy launch and straight shots were seen both with the “eye test” and the launch monitor confirmation.

Why GT3?

The Titleist GT3 Driver is the blend of low spin, nice head shape and forgiveness.

It has adjustability for direction along with an adjustable hosel to fit a golfers needs.

The GT2 didn’t pass the spin or eye test.

The GT4 looked amazing and had the lowest spin, but I wasn’t seeing the consistently straight shots with it.

The GT3 offered the “goldilocks” affect of being just right.

Since I don’t have problems with launch I was able to get the spin numbers low enough with an 8.0 degree head.

Distance and Accuracy

In July 2024, I tweaked my driver swing and started swing training because I had completely lost my driver swing.

I didn’t have the distance I used to hit and I was struggling to find fairways.

By September 2024, I had increased my swing speed and my accuracy.

I walked up to the Titleist Fitting tent with the most confidence I’ve had in my driver in years.

After my fitting and upon the arrival of my new Titleist GT3 Driver I was flying high.

Stepping up to the tee now means the ball has a good chance of going 300 yards and finding the middle of the fairway.

My golfing buddies have taken notice about the combination of distance and accuracy that I’m finding thanks to the Titleist GT3 Driver.

Summary

The new Titleist GT3 Driver is my gamer.  It combines low spin, great looks, amazing feel, and finds the fairway.

I highly recommend GETTING FIT!!

While I would have been pretty close with my spec right off the shelf, the ability to dial the exact model, loft and shaft mean you are going to get the best club for your swing.

I haven’t switch driver brands in years, but Titleist won the spot one fairway at time with more distance and accuracy.
