Golf shafts are the most misunderstood piece of golf equipment.

It seems the information ranges from the “engine of the club” to “not really that big of deal”.

It seems that the extreme approaches have been winning on the internet.

The truth is somewhere in between.

Shafts aren’t going to turn a poor fitting club into something that gives you tour-like numbers, but what it can do is take a really good fitting head and reduce or increase the performance.

A shaft can impact your consistency and your ability to maximize your swing.

The TPT Power Range Wood Shafts are built using the most precise and highest tolerances which means they are the most consistent shaft on the market.

That consistency translates into better numbers on the launch monitor but also better performance on the course.

I tested these shafts over 10 rounds of golf as well as in the iGR Carls Place DIY Simulator with FlightScope Mevo+ Pro Launch Monitor.

This is my definitive TPT Power Range Wood Shafts Review.

The TPT Difference

TPT has a non-golf history in Thin Ply Technology which is used in elite sail racing, aerospace and motorsport at the highest standard.

They’ve brought that process and technology to golf.

They create graphite golf shafts twice as many thin layers and build then with automated controlled precession.

These shafts are made with more precision and consistency than any other shaft on the market.

They are spine free which means no matter how you install it, it is perfect.

What that means is that your clubs are more likely to repeat the same performance every time you swing.

TPT Power Range Woods

The TPT Power Range Wood Shafts come in Driver, Fairway and Hybrid. I’ve had great success with a TPT shaft in my driver in the past so I was excited to try the fairway and hybrid shafts.

TPT shafts are recognizable by their bright yellow graphics over the “raw” looking graphite shaft.

They use red letters to show the details as far as Lo or Hi launch and then the number indicated the speed range.

As a high spin golfers I’m always looking for lower flight and spin.

The online fitting tool said 17/Lo is the best fit for me in both the fairway and hybrid.

TPT Performance Difference

I installed my TPT Power Range Wood Shafts into my Titleist GT2 3-wood and my Cobra DS-Adapt Hybrid.

Both of these clubs have been my gamers in 2025 and were well fit for my game.

Since installing the TPT shafts I watched both clubs hit the ball slightly lower, but straighter and more consistent.

This wasn’t like 20 yards more or high ball flight to worm burners, but think more along the lines of a few yards here and there narrowing the circle in every direction.

Anytime you can shrink the dispersion circle while picking up a yard or two of distance that is a huge win.

These shafts have a firm yet consistent feel to them.

Summary

It is pretty simple: TPT shafts are made better so that you can play better.

I’ve been impressed by the performance of the TPT Power Range Wood Shafts in my 3-wood and hybrid. My circle of performance got a little longer, but also much smaller.

They took my gamer clubs to the next level of performance for even better scoring opportunities.

If you want to see better numbers and better on-course results you might consider changing your shafts in your fairway woods and hybrids with the TPT Power Range.
