Vessel LUX Air Stand Bag Review

Walking for 18 holes remains the purest form of golf. The connection to the course, the pace of play and the healthy 5 mile walk create an ideal golf environment.

Since moving to AZ, I rarely do that since the heat can be oppressive and the courses aren’t built for walking.

But traveling to other parts of the country will often open up opportunities to walk.

The Vessel LUX Air Stand Bag is a full featured bag constructed to be the ultimate walking bag.

It is lightweight yet full featured. It can be worn with backpack straps or single strap for a caddie.

The Cordura fabric looks classy while reducing the weight. It also rides nicely on a push or power cart. You get all the style, class and function of a Vessel bag, while reducing the weight for an enjoyable walk.

This is my official Vessel LUX Air Stand Bag Review.

Vessel LUX Air Stand Bag

Lightweight for Carrying

Every ounce makes a difference.

When you carry your bag on your shoulders ever little bit makes a difference on your back, knees and overall energy used for 18 holes.

Back in my younger days it was the only way to play.

I don’t carry nearly as much as I used to, but when I do, I want the lightest bag possible.

The Vessel LUX Air Stand Bag is one of the lightest full featured stand bags you can buy.

The Cordura naturale fabric is what keeps the weight down.

The smaller footprint also helps reduce weight. However, the bag still retains full features for holding 14 clubs and everything you need for 18 holes.

Lightweight Stand Function

If I’m going to carry, I want it to be a stand bag.

I know there is a “cool” retro movement to set you bag on the ground while playing, but I don’t want my bag dirty, by clubs on the ground and bending over that far.

The Vessel LUX Air Stand Bag is still extremely lightweight even with a stand mechanism.

The pivot sit flat bottom paired with very lightweight legs make for a stable and easy functioning stand system but yet very lightweight.

I found the legs deploy and retract easily.

Functional Pockets

The Vessel LUX Air Stand Bag is lightweight, but still has 5 main pockets that can hold all the gear you would need for 18 holes.

They are big, easy to use and have plenty of storage, just remember the more you fill the pockets, the heavier the bag gets.

I found the spine pockets great for my rangefinder, golf balls, ball marker and divot tool.

The magnetic flap can hold a cold drink. The long side pocket can keep rain gear if necessary.

The shorter side pocket will hold additional golf ball or other accessories. It also has a valuable pocket on the side that is lined for your wallet and phone.

4-Way Top

If you’ve read any of my review before you know I am a huge fan of 14-way tops.

I love having a slot for each club. However, there is a fair amount of weight that can be saved by reducing the top and full length dividers.

A 4-way top is much lighter and it functions rather nicely in the Vessel LUX Air Stand Bag.

You can do, woods, irons x2 and wedges. Depending on how you like you set up you can put the putter with the woods or wedges.

This top is big enough to get all 14 clubs in and out easily while having enough division that your club don’t become a tangled mess.

Summary

The Vessel LUX Air Stand Bag is my favorite new carry bag since it offers all the features of a much larger bag, but in a much smaller and lighter footprint.

I think is is an ideal travel bag since you can ride, walk or push with it, plus you can get it set-up for a caddie if you are using one of those for your round.

It is perfect if you regularly walk 18 holes since you can walk light but keep all the function of much bigger and heavier bag.

Vessel did it again by creating a beautiful, functional and practical bag.
