Vice Golf VGD01+ Driver Review
Finally A DTC Driver That Actually Offers Low Spin Performance
One question golfers have been asked for decades is where do I buy new golf balls at a lower price?
It is the question that lead to the creation of Vice Golf in the first place.
For almost 15 years now Vice has been making high performance golf balls at more reasonable prices in their DTC model which has also spilled into retail stores selling their golf balls.
They’ve now tackled the same question when it comes to clubs.
How do I get a brand new driver that performs without paying over $600?
The Vice Golf VGD01+ Driver is the first DTC driver that I’ve ever tested that offered the same low spin performance as OEM low spin drivers do.
I’ve been impressed by the performance of this driver over the last 4 rounds of golf I played with it as well as hitting it in the iGR Carls Place DIY Simulator with FlightScope Mevo+ Pro Launch Monitor.
It combines lightweight, high quality, cool looks and low spin which are rarely found outside of the big name brands.
So if you are trying to answer the question, “where do I get a low spin driver at a lower price point?”
This is it.

Low Spin in the VGD01+
Virtually every brand offers a “low spin” driver.
It at least will be lower spinning than their regular model.
It seems that most DTC brands haven’t been able to match those offerings and usually had a model or two, but not one that matched the performance of the OEMs.
(this was the same problem that DTC brands had with golf balls too)
The Vice Golf VGD01+ Driver offers OEM low spin performance at a lower DTC price point.
I’ve been impressed how low launch and low spin this driver is. It hits that ball on a very penetrating flight with low spin.

Bonus Points For Style
I know that style doesn’t impact performance, but I love the way that Vice Golf shows off their design features with style.
The carbon crown has both design and style features.
The bugling ridge line isn’t just style, but part of the performance package.
The carbon crown could have been painted plain black, but they gave it a cool “natural” look.
The 2 piece crown looks really good at address and sets up really square.
The bottom might look like a lot going on, but it is also part of the technology that creates speed and CG.
Your DTC driver looks as good if not better than OEM drivers.

Quality Build From Every Angle
The Vice Golf VGD01+ Driver can go head to head with any OEM driver on the market.
It is a slightly lighter-weight driver designed to help increase your swing speed.
I didn’t find it feeling that different which is a good thing.
The “made for” shaft is a custom version of an Aldila shaft which I found to feel very good and matched the low spin, low launch head nicely.
The face has a milled sweet spot that helps you know if you hit the ball in the middle on each tee shot.
The weight on the back is removable, but there isn’t an alternate weight included.
The hosel is adjustable too to dial in your needs.

On-Course Performance
DTC brands have come a long way over the years and they are really creeping up on the OEM brands and even pushing them to innovate to stay ahead of the competition.
The Vice Golf VGD01+ Driver was a low spin monster that was challenging my gamer for the driver slot in my bag.
I hit low launch and low spin driver repeatedly off the tee.
I had really solid carry distance, and good strong roll-out.
The sound is super pleasing and the feel it solid.
The results were spin in the low 2000s off the launch monitor.
My miss was on the left side with this driver because of the lighter-weight.

Summary
There you have it; the Vice Golf VGD01+ Driver is a low spin driver at a lower price point.
This is actually a DTC club that performs as well as most OEM low spin drivers.
Plus it has style that hang in any environment, it is subtle enough for traditional players, but “wild” enough for someone looking to have a splashy look.
But it is really about the performance that impressed me with low spin, low launch and distance.
The quality, performance, style and price should put this on your radar.
Finally a DTC driver that offers real low spin performance.
