Wilson DYNAPWR Forged Irons Review
Distance and Launch With Feel and Accuracy
Distance is king. I don’t think it matters if you are 27 or 72, hitting the ball further puts a smile on your face. If you can hit a 9-iron into a green when everyone else is hitting an 8 or 7-iron you feel really good about your game. We all like bragging to our buddies about how far we hit the ball. There is a reason that distance irons have become so popular.
The Wilson DYNAPWR Forged Irons are the king of the Players Distance irons with their high launch and LONG carry yet they look amazing, are accurate, and feel as good as any iron you’ll hit. If you’ve lost a few yards over the years or simply want to hit the ball further, these are one of the longest and highest hitting irons you can buy.
My dad and I tested these on the course for 5 rounds, as well as on the FlightScope Mevo Gen2 Launch Monitor.
This is my definitive Wilson DYNAPWR Forged Irons Review.

DYNAPWR Distance
The DYNAPWR line has been the king of distance for the last few years. The 2026 Wilson DYNAPWR Forged Irons are the players version of these clubs which means that are fairly compact, have a thinnish top line, less offset and are a forged head. But they still hit the ball a country mile. These are the longest irons I’ve tested in 2026. While golfers complain about “jacked” lofts which is essentially an 8-iron having 7-iron loft which so many golfers claim is just switching club numbers. The truth is that this jacked loft 8-iron goes farther, but it actually hits as high as a 9-iron.
Distance in these irons is the combination golfers want to see: higher flight with longer carry. The secret is in the inside of this club: low CG, variable thickness face, and a urethane filled cavity which creates launch, forgiveness, distance and feel. It was amazing to watch my 76 year old dad hit clubs higher and further than he has in 20 years.

Forged Feel and Accuracy
Not all distance seeking golfers want super game improvement irons. The Wilson DYNAPWR Forged Irons offer good golfers who simply want distance the chance to play a compact forged head that has max distance. My father is the perfect example. He has played golfer for over 60 years and doesn’t want or need big bulky irons; he wants that forged feel of an iron, the accuracy that he can still hit with a players club, but needs a boost in distance. Once I let him hit these irons, he is never giving them back. He has played his best golf in years with these irons.
Accuracy also is a big winner with these irons because they just want to go straight. They launch the ball quickly, hit it far, and keep it on the intended line all with a soft forged feel. The gapping remains consistent even if these only come in a 5-iron – gap wedge. You don’t really need a 4-iron with how far these hit, moving to a wood or hybrid in the longer club makes the most sense.

DYNAPWR Forged Difference
There are 3 Wilson DYNAPWR irons: Forged, Regular and Max. The progression from least offset to most along with smallest to largest. The all possess the same LONG distance, but the forged difference is both seen and felt. These irons are close to the Staff Model line in terms of great looks, just chromed out. The feel is so soft and buttery with the forged head with urethane dampening. The compact size with minimal offset makes them ideal for mid handicap golfers. I think especially excellent for older golfers the grew up playing smaller irons. These really fit their eye.

Regained Performance
The Wilson DYNAPWR Forged Irons are going to be one of the longest, highest, softest and most accurate irons for a mid handicap golfer. These were perfect for my dad who has lost distance over the years but nothing else. He can still hit the ball tight to the flag, he still likes a compact forged head, he simply has lost distance and launch. Watching his irons shots tower higher than ever, yet go further than before is a thing of beauty. He regained some old form that he had when he was much younger.

Summary
The Wilson DYNAPWR Forged Irons combine distance, feel and looks. They are perfect for older golfers who have lost speed, younger golfers who want more distance or any decent golfer that wants great looking and feeling irons, yet the longest ones they can hit. These are perfect for the mid-handicap golfer.
They kind of grab a little bit from every iron category to make something that performs on the course: forged feel like players, distance like game improvement, launch like super game improvement, and looks like players clubs. While personally they lean a little too game improvement for me, my dad is gaming them and shooting his best scores.
Wilson has one of the best iron line-ups for 2026 and the DYNAPWR Forged have distance, launch, feel and accuracy.
