Have you played golf with someone that doesn’t have a distance measuring device? I haven’t. While not everyone has a laser rangefinder, in 2025 most golfers have some sort of GPS, App or laser in their golf bag. The WOSPORTS L14 Golf Laser Rangefinder isn’t going to replace your $500 laser, but for $100 why not use one in addition to your GPS. While online golfer debate GPS or Laser; for the cost of this laser you could just do both. I got my yardages during 4 rounds of golf with the L14. It offers many of the features of much higher price lasers at a mere fraction of the price. Is low cost distance worth it? Find out below.

This is my official WOSPORTS L14 Golf Laser Rangefinder Review.

Budget Laser

The main reason for getting a WOSPORTS L14 Golf Laser Rangefinder is the combination of features for the price. WOSPORTS offers a couple models at budget prices. The L14 is their top model with magnet, slope, 7x magnification, pin vibrate, USB-C rechargeable battery, and case. All of these features come in right around $100. That is savings of $400 to $500 compared to the top golf laser rangefinders. It might almost seem to good to be true, but the reality is that this is a really good (if not the best) budget laser rangefinder you can buy.

Mode Functions

The WOSPORTS L14 Golf Laser Rangefinder functions like any other rangefinder you have used. It has the power button which also serves as the distance button. It also has a mode button on top to toggle from mode 1, 2, or 3. The mode that golfers should stick to is Mode 2 with slope or without. Mode 3 is for hunting. Mode 1 is perfect for tournament golf since it doesn’t display slope measurements. You can also change to meters if you are not in the US.

7x Clear Optics

Golf laser rangefinder either have 6x or 7x magnification. The WOSPORTS L14 Golf Laser Rangefinder is their top model and offers a clear 7x magnification which puts it in the upper tier of rangefinders on the market. The additional power means the pin looks closer and better zoomed in to clearly see the target we are shooting for. The black LCD numbers are thin and clear. There are a whole bunch of other numbers and symbols on the display to give you a full understanding of what is happening in terms of slope, angle, distance, pin, battery life, etc.

Rechargeable Battery Life

The rechargeable USB-C battery in the WOSPORTS L14 Golf Laser Rangefinder is going to super easy to charge since almost every rechargeable electronic has moved to this port (even Apple). It only takes a short time to get it fully charged out of the box and from there you might not need to charge it again all season. If you keep a cord with you for your phone, you could always give it a boost in the car or even on the golf cart. But the super long battery life remains one of the big draws of laser: charge it and forget it because the battery will last multiple rounds, if not the entire golf season for most.

Hitting Targets

So what is the difference between the $100 WOSPORTS L14 Golf Laser Rangefinder and a $500 one? The L14 required double shooting flags because it liked to hit the background, or tree, or something other than the flag from time to time. I think this is the trade off for the cost difference. It is accurate when you acquire the proper target, but it seems to hit multiple objects when shooting. I found that the flag lock and vibration worked only when you hit the flag so that helped, but this also took a shot or two to make that happen.

Summary

How much is distance worth to you? I don’t think the WOSPORTS L14 Golf Laser Rangefinder is going to replace your $500 laser, but if you want to add one to your GPS or simply replace the laser you left stuck to the cart, this is one of the best budget golf laser rangefinders out there. For $100 you get slope, 7x magnification, cart magnet, USB-C rechargeable battery, case and accuracy once the target is acquired.
