Ever wonder if you can buy a putter made out of the same materials as the most expensive models on the market, but without a huge price tag? Meridian Putters has you covered. What I found was the Okatie made by Meridian Putters. I’ve played 11 rounds with it with great success on the greens.

This is my official Meridian Okatie Putter Review for 2024.

Customize Your Putter

I gave the Meridian customized putter option a try and it did not disappoint. I was able to get exactly what I wanted while keeping the price point also like I wanted: Affordable. This is what they say about the process: “Say goodbye to expensive stock putters and hello to personalized milled Meridian putters made in the USA. Choose the head style, face milling, finish, and stamping- every decision shapes a putter that’s uniquely yours.” – Meridian Putters

Materials

When it comes to materials used for putters these days, Stainless Steel is one the most durable options to deliver the look, feel and performance meeting golfers demand. Starting with a block of high grade stainless steel, Meridian Putters are milled with state of the art machines and 100% made in the USA.

Head Shapes

Meridian Putters offers 7 head styles to choose from – ranging from a classic toe blade and modern blade and mallets with different hosel configurations. While these choices are limited, you can’t just let anyone come up with a head to design to create an affordable custom putter. They still need a putter that will function, have the appropriate weight and not break the mill. You should be able to select one of the shapes that fits your eye. I went with the classic Okatie designs since this one can be hard to come by from other putter companies.

Face Milling

Meridian Putters can come with one of three distinct face millings. Depending on which one you choose it can help create a feel that you are looking for.

The Meridian Cut draws its inspiration from Latitude and Longitude lines which look similar to the rounded shape of Earth. This cut will be the softest of the three in response and feedback.
The Fly Cut milling is what I choose for its subtle softness and similar feedback to most putters in the market today.
The Smooth Cut which has no milling marks, creating a louder sound and the most firm feedback you can get with a putter.

Finishing Touches

Now that you have your perfect head shape and milled face, you get to truly make it yours with the finishing touches. Meridian Putters offers 2 finishes: the standard finish is stainless steel, but you can upgrade to a premium Oil Can finish for an additional fee. Making sure it is the right length for your arms,stroke and preference allow you to select a length from 31-38 in. The grip selection isn’t massive, but the 6 different grips are all great choices between the Lamkin Deep Etch, the Meridian TPU or 4 SuperStroke options. The wrap up of the package included stamping/engraving and paint choices at an additional cost. Even if you totally pimp your putter out, you’ll still be less than any name brand putter off the rack.

Summary

I have been so happy with my Meridian Okatie Putter. Even though I’ve been a big fan of Scotty, this affordable customizable putter is just as good in terms of quality and performance. I’m not getting anywhere near a putter like this for this price from anyone else. A putter that looks stunning, feels amazing and performs like this would be twice the price for a stock putter. I know we live in a world where some things seem too good to be true, but Meridian Putters really are!
