MXWL Golf Organizer Bag Review

The MXWL Golf Organizer Bag is a large, cube-shaped trunk organizer with dividers, pockets and a ventilated lower compartment that holds two pairs of shoes. I kept it in my trunk for 3 rounds and 3 range trips, and it carried everything I needed except the clubs. It saved me from packing and double-checking my gear before every round.

MXWL is the logo for Maxwell Golf, and I like that the name skips the vowels. I found the bag big, sturdy, durable and more useful than I expected, like a backpack, shoe bag and trunk organizer in one.

What it holds

The bag has slots, dividers, pockets and zippers, with plenty of room for every accessory you need to play. It holds 2 dozen golf balls, towels, a rangefinder, socks, ball markers, divot tools, hats, sunglasses and sunscreen, plus polos, a hoodie and rain gear. You can stock it for whatever your climate throws at you.

In a busy world we often don’t have time to double-check that we have enough balls, tees and our laser. I packed mine once and used it for 6 trips to the course, and each time I had what I needed and a place to put it when I was done. It’s also handy to keep backup gear and accessories in the car without packing everything in the golf bag.

Shoe compartment

The bottom half holds 2 pairs of shoes. That’s useful when you want spikes one day, spikeless the next and slides after the round. Dirty, smelly shoes stay in their own compartment instead of bouncing around the trunk.

The compartment is ventilated, so shoes dry out and don’t get moldy between rounds. I like keeping slides in there for after the round, and I’m ready to golf the next time I open it, even if I forgot my golf shoes at home.

Build and fit in the trunk

The bag is big, has a shoulder strap and should fit in any trunk or hatch. The heavy-duty polyester should handle the beating a trunk bag takes, and the dividers felt sturdy. It can carry up to 55 pounds, so over-packing isn’t a worry.

I often had my golf bag leaning across the top, and the organizer took it fine. If you take out all your golf gear, it also works as a trunk organizer for emergency gear and food on road trips.

If I could change one thing, I’d add little rubber grippers to the base. The bag doesn’t fly around or tip over in a truck bed, but it did slide forward, which made it a little harder to reach when I got to the course. You’ll also need to restock balls, tees and other supplies as you use them.

Should you buy it?

Yes, if you want your spare gear, apparel and shoes in one spot in the trunk. The MXWL Golf Organizer Bag was more functional and practical than I expected, and it makes it much harder to forget something. It’s a great road-trip companion for spare supplies.

Skip it if you don’t keep gear in your car or you want a bag to carry through the day instead. A backpack such as the Sunday Golf Encinitas is a better fit for that.
