The TaylorMade Qi10 MAX Driver was in my bag for 6 rounds of golf this spring.  It is one of the most forgiving  drivers for 2024 with 10K MOI, but the big surprise to me was that the spin was fairly low too.  This driver takes everything to the MAX to help you squeeze the most out of every drive.

This is the definitive TaylorMade Qi10 MAX Driver Review for 2024.

10K MOI

TaylorMade’s Quest for Inertia is all about making forgiveness perform.  MOI has been a buzz word in the golf industry now for almost a decade.  It had gone by the wayside as companies pursued new technologies and materials.  However it made a roaring comeback in 2024 with the engineering feat of TaylorMade to hit the 10K MOI MAX while making a driver that still has really good looks, great feel, and lowish spin.  It feels like the sacrifices usually associated with high forgiveness are getting less and less.  This is getting as close to “cracking the code” it is.  It is big, long, and forgiving.

60X Carbon Twist Face

The TaylorMade Qi10 MAX Driver has the 3rd version of the 60X Carbon Twist Face. It has proven successful for Taylormade as they have been able to reduce the face weight allowing for more moveable mass for other areas of the club.  It offers consistent ball speeds across the entire face as well as deflection for keeping those off center hits going straight.  The most obvious feature is the different feel of a carbon face compared to a titanium face.  It is much more muted/softer, but yet the ball explodes off of it with power.  The deep blue stock color is very “hidden” at address so you can barely notice it is there.  The TaylorMade Qi10 MAX Driver has the biggest face of them all to create the biggest sweet spot in golf.

MAX

The TaylorMade Qi10 MAX Driver is a high launching/lowish spinning head.  It has a very large footprint too.  It is big in every direction which isn’t a surprise when talking forgiveness.  In order to achieve 10K MOI you need a big face and a big body to push the mass to the corners. The dark carbon crown does a good job of hiding the girth of this driver.  It is big, but it look really nice behind the ball at address.  The face it tall and wide so you really feel like this is a forgiveness machine.

Spin Surprise

The TaylorMade Qi10 MAX Driver has much lower spin than I expected.  I’ve found that non-LS clubs usually spin way to much for me, but TaylorMade found a way to keep the MAX spin down.  It is only a few hundred rpms less than the LS.  The gap between the top and bottom of this line is small.  I really appreciate being able to pick up some forgiveness while not getting spin penalized.  I also found a change in shaft really made a difference for me in terms of spin too.  The stock shaft is a Fujikura Speeder NX TCS 50 stiff which has nice feel and easy launch, but I like something a little heavier, a little low spin and found even better results.  I think getting fit into the correct Qi10 driver will really benefit your game.

Performance

I’m finally finding something that resembles a driver swing on the golf course.  The Taylormade Qi10 MAX Driver has been a big part of the revival of my driver swing.  Confidence and results go hand in hand.  The MAX forgiveness is incredibly valuable when you start struggling to hit the ball well.  Instead of watching the ball go every which direction the TaylorMade Qi10 MAX helped me watch the ball go toward the fairway.  It did it with high launch, straight flight and fairly low spin.  I found the Qi10 LS to be longer for me, but the Qi10 MAX found a few more fairways.  For me more fairways leads to better scores.  These two are battling for the Gamer slot in the iGolfReviews 2024 bag.

Summary

10K MOI forgiveness is the main event with the TaylorMade Qi10 MAX Driver.  All of TaylorMade’s 2024 drivers have increased forgiveness with the MAX having the most.  The other impressive feature of this driver was the relatively low spin for such a forgiving driver.  I’m impressed by the new tech and the benefits for golfers in 2024.  The whole my 10 year old driver is just as good as the new one is simply not true.  Sure dead center perfect everything might be very similar, but over the course of 18 holes, the TaylorMade Qi10 MAX will prove its forgiveness and performance with more consistent and longer drives.
