Heybike Horizon E-Bike Review
Style and Power to Tackle Any Terrain

The Heybike Horizon E-Bike is the newest model from Heybike. It is bigger, more powerful, more stylish and has more features. I used it this fall both on and off the golf course, as well as off-roading. It is a versatile E-Bike that can tackle any terrain. I am impressed with this personal mode of transportation.
This is the my definitive review of the Heybike Horizon E-Bike for 2023.
Road, Golf Course or Mountain?
E-Bikes are taking over the bicycle industry because of their range and ease of use. While purists still scoff at E-Bikes, I see people riding around town every day on their E-Bike. You can get an E-Bike in just about any style of bike you can imagine; dirt, mountain, cruiser, commuter, etc. The Heybike Horizon E-Bike is one of the most versatile E-Bikes on the market. You can cruise the roads in style, you can use it to play golf, or you can tackle rough mountain terrain. It’s bigger tires, long battery life, excellent suspension, step through foldable frame allow it to tackle any terrain in style and with great power. I think this is one of the best E-Bike models on the market for versatility.
As Easy as Riding a Bike
The Heybike Horizon E-Bike is a fat tire, step-through full suspension bike that can be ridden like any other bike you’ve used or boosted with E-power. It comes folded and half assembled in the box. It takes about 1/2 to assemble and then 3 hours to charge the battery. While you wait for that first ride, you’ll notice all the features that make this E-Bike both similar to other bikes, yet unique and versatile. It does require downloading the Heybike App to open up all the features of the Horizon E-Bike. No matter how you decided to ride the bike, you can ride it without the E-features and just pedal a 7 speed bike. It is heavy, but surprising doesn’t ride “heavy”. You pedal down the road and it feels like the bike you rode as a child.
Features
The Heybike Horizon E-Bike is the newest bike by Heybike. It boasts a 55 mile battery range with 1200 watt peak power. While it is a bike and you can pedal, I’m guessing that you will use some level of E-boost which turns your pedaling into faster speeds with the electric motor in the rear hub. There are 5 speeds/powers of boost. It is a most fascinating sensation to start pedaling and then feel the boost kick in. You also have the option to use it like a scooter and push the “trigger” for similar speeds without pedaling. It also has gears for pedaling depending on your incline and speed needs. It is sold as a limited edition bike that is numbered and has some unique accessories included when you buy it. The console is upgraded to give you more information as well as blinkers and auto dimming lights.
E-Bike As A Golf Cart?
The Heybike Horizon E-Bike doesn’t come ready for golf, it requires the additional accessory by Divnick. This universal E-bike golf bag carrier will bolt on to any E-Bike rack so if you already have a fat tire E-bike, you can just add the Divnick Bag Carrier to make it a golf cart. The bag carrier is basically a 2 part system; a bracket that attaches to the bike and a pivoting bag bracket that has straps to hold the bag. It then serves as the bike’s kickstand. It takes a few tries to get the hang of dismounting and mounting the bike and bag during a round of golf. It almost feels like the whole works is just going to tip over, but kick the rack all the way out and it is sturdy as can be and when you stand the bike back up, it pivots to the vertical position so you can ride down the fairway or cart path comfortably. I was impressed by the balance of the bike; I barely noticed I had 30lbs of golf gear off one side of the back wheel. The additional power and suspension of the HeyBike Horizon E-Bike makes it faster, more powerful and smoother around the golf course compared to other E-Bikes.
Versatile Function
While iGolfReviews tends to focus on golf-centric products, the versatility of the Heybike Horizon E-Bike becomes obvious as convenience, power, function, etc all get put to the test off the golf course. The full suspension allows me to tackle the mountain terrain right behind my house and really enjoy off-road adventures. Once I come off the mountains, riding it down the street is comfortable and fast so I can get to the store or hit the range. It has the racks and space of additional carriers to fetch groceries, run errands or go to work. The bigger wheels create a smoother, more balanced and easier ride. The step through frame makes it easy on and off for short jaunts here and there.
Fold/Unfold
The Heybike Horizon E-Bike is foldable. However it is heavy too; around 80lbs. I don’t suggest folding it and unfolding it every time you use it or put it away, but you could. This reduces storage space and allow you to transport it more easily to your destination if you are driving somewhere first. This is ideal for golf since most courses you play are not going to be close to home. It takes 2 levers and a couple simple motions to fold the bike in 1/2. It will then fit in your trunk, back of your SUV, truck bed or even the hatch of a MINI. (requires back seat down) While the Heybike Horizon E-Bike works great as a golf cart, I think the smaller HeyBike Ranger is easier to take in your car back and forth.
Horizon
The Heybike Horizon E-Bike is perfect in any setting. The full suspension bike can be rode anywhere at any time. The big fat tires, the powerful motor, the long battery life has Heybike pushing the limits of E-Bike features. I think the future is really bright for E-Bikes and Heybike is making some of the best on the market. You can ride it to work, you can take it on the trail, you can use it as a golf cart, you can enjoy a relaxing ride into the sunset, you can run errands, or you can use it any way you’d use a bike. It has great range and power to climb hills easily. I can pedal to get exercise, but then use it in scooter mode if I get tired. You can add accessories by Heybike to make it even more functional for your needs.
Price Point
The Heybike Horizon E-bike runs around $1500 and if you want to make it a golf cart you need to add the $250 Divnick Golf Bag Carrier which brings the total right around $1750. Obviously you can get a simple pedal bike for much less than that, but in the E-Bike world this is kind of the going rate right now. The power, vesatility, stability, style and battery life make this a leader on the market. If you consider how many golf cart fees you could save and gas to and from the course; this E-bike will be paid off after about a year of golf or so. If you use it off the course regularly, it is a really solid investment. While I know $1500 is not cheap; it is can really be an economical way to move around town, enjoy the outdoors, and play golf.
Summary
The Heybike Horizon E-Bike is an upgraded version of my favorite golf product of 2023 (Heybike Ranger E-Bike). I know it is technically not a golf specific product but the added power, suspension and versatility make fun on or off the golf course. it is fast, fun, has great battery life and is useful just as much off the course as it is on the course. The Heybike Horizon E-Bike with Divnick Bag Carrier has the real potential of being a game changer in the golf segment.
