The M.U.T.

I have 3 different golf travel bags sitting in my closet taking up space and collecting dust. I travel a handful of times a year for golf which I think is decent for an average golfer. I’m guessing some readers only travel once or twice for golf in any given year. A big expensive club travel bag that gets rarely used probably seems like a tough investment. But lots of people travel for work or take short trips that don’t include golf. The Stitch Golf M.U.T. Bag is perfect for both and is an excellent investment for its multi use function. The M.U.T. can replace both your carry-on bag and your golf travel bag.

Golf Traveler Bag

The Stitch Golf Multi Use Traveler Bag expands into a very sleek, compact sized golf travel case. It will hold a stand bag perfectly. A staff bag will be too big, but unless you are a tour pro, don’t travel with a staff bag anyways. My Stitch SL2 bag fit as did my other stand bags. There remains room yet for a pair of shoes and other gear you will want on your golf trip. The zipper system for opening everything up and accessing your golf bag is easy and functions really well. The one difference with this travel bag is that it doesn’t open up wide, but requires the golf bag to be slid into the travel cover from the top or bottom to go through the middle of the M.U.T. Since it is a compact size, it reduces the temptation to over-pack too much gear in the bag making it overweight at the ticket counter. It offers really nice protection on the bottom with a hard base and nice stiff padding at the top.

Carry-On Bag

The Stitch Golf M.U.T. Bag can serve as your carry-on bag between golf trips. Simply fold in the lower golf travel bag into the bag, zip it up and away your go. While obviously you lose a little space in the carry on bag, but that is a happy trade for the 2-in-1 function of this bag. I like the size, the style, and function of this carry on bag which will easily fit in any overhead bin, or can be checked for your destination with enough clothing and accessories for your short trips. I found this to be my “go-to” travel bag even when I wasn’t golfing. A nice little touch is adding your initials to the bag further noting this black travel bag is yours. It is only a 2 wheel bag, but still has great stability when standing next to you. The extending handle works great too for dragging it through the airport.

Torsion Bar

I won’t travel with my golf clubs unless there is some sort of brace keeping the bag and clubs protected from drops and impact. The Stitch Golf Multi Use Traveler Bag comes with a Torsion Bar which is an extender pole with a dome cap to protect the long clubs from damage. What I really liked about the Stitch version is that it slides into itself short enough to fit in the M.U.T. even when not in use. This makes the storage of the torsion bar easy while traveling or in the closet.

Style

When it comes to style, Stitch Golf has been leading the pack in everything they do from their headcover to their bags; from the apparel to the M.U.T. The Stitch Golf Multi Use Traveler Bag comes in 2 colors: black or navy. They both have orange accent colored zippers to give a little pop. The M.U.T. design is classy, sleek and functional. It really is the best looking all in one travel bag you can buy, plus the fact that is doubles as both a travel and carry-on bag is simply bonus behind blended so well. While the plain colors might blend in with other travel bags, you will spot your M.U.T. immediately when it drops onto the carousel at baggage claim.

Summary

The Stitch Golf Multi Use Traveler Bag is the best of both worlds with a carry-on bag that can be turned into your golf travel bag. While it can’t do both at the same time, its multi use function means your investment in this bag will get used more than once a year. Depending on your work and travel needs, this bag can be used regularly. One side benefit might be on a non-golf trip you might buy or pick up something long that typically won’t fit in your normal luggage, but now you can just expand your M.U.T. and bring it home. I’m impressed that the Stitch Golf Multi Use Traveler Bag became my favorite travel bag. It offers protection, stability, easy of use, multi function and excellent style. The Stitch Golf M.U.T.
