Combine Cornhole and Golf and you get Golf Chip. I enjoyed this new game with friends and family while supporting my favorite teams. The Victory Tailgate Golf Chip is a licensed golf game that can be played almost anywhere: while tailgating, when at the beach, during a party, or just hanging out in the backyard. Even non-golfers had fun playing golf chip.

What is Golf Chip?
There are numerous yard games and tailgate activities to fill you time with family and friends. Victory Tailgate Golf Chip is the newest game that has a cornhole like concept but uses wedges to hit foam golf balls into nets. The boards look similar to a cornhole set, but there are 3 targets instead of one. The board is covered in turf and you hit foam balls with a wedge trying to chip them into the differing point nets. There are a couple different ways the game can be played to maximize the fun. You can either do match play for 9 or 18 holes or you can do scoring by point total. (this game you are actually trying to get the bigger score)

Victory Tailgate Golf Chip isn’t the only company that makes a yard game like this, but they are the only one that has licensing rights to NFL, MLB, NCAA, and NHL teams. Obviously I went with my favorite team the Green Bay Packers and then some of my friends favorite team Michigan Wolverines. It all depends on the crowd which one I pull out. The licensing is super well done with clear logos and nice details to make this boards stand out in a crowd. There are hundreds of options so hopefully you can find your favorite team and support them while playing golf chip.
Portability
The Victory Tailgate Golf Chip boards are designed to fit together in a travel bag. The carry bag has a nice shoulder strap so that you can carry it from trunk to beach, backyard or wherever you and your friends are hanging out. The game needs about 25′ of total distance and maybe 8′ of width. You can play it with teams or 1 on 1. It requires a club or 2 to be brought from your bag. Only one person hits at a time so you could get by with a single club. The 4 sets of 4 foam balls and 2 hitting mats are included so it is ready to go right out of the bag. It also included a dry erase scoring tablet. The foam balls are very limited flight and soft so you won’t break anything if your buddy gets wild with his swing. No one should be taking full swings, but there is always that one guys that tries to hit a crazy flop shot and skulls it into the crowd. Everyone will stay safe. The set up is easy too, but unfolding the legs and setting on the ground 20′ apart (or whatever you decide).
Fun
The Victory Tailgate Golf Chip will be your “go-to” yard game. It is highly addictive and has multiple ways ti can be played which will keep it interesting. If you friends don’t play golf, they’ll still be able to enjoy golf chip. The team boards really make it fun at the beach, at a tailgate or at a party with fans. The Green Bay Packer one has started all sorts of fun conversations. People love this game because it like a miniature version of TopGolf. Support your favorite time, play a fun, portable game and even sneak in a little “golf” while hanging out with friends.
Value
The Victory Tailgate Golf Chip retails for $270. They do run a number of specials like 15% with SPRING15 so you can get a high quality, licensed set for the cost of a couple wedges. The fun that you and your friends can have, the travel case and durability make this well worth the price. You can get plain ones from other retailers for about the same price so why not get one that supports your favorite team. I love having my Green Bay Packers set out when playing with friends and family. The licensed boards make a really nice conversation piece as well as showing some pride in your home team. The game will get used often and we even found nightly competitions among family members to see who is the golf chip champion (me of course).
Summary
The Victory Tailgate Golf Chip Green Bay Packer Boards make a great gift, a great party game, a great conversation piece, and an enjoyable game when gathered with family or friends. I’m impressed with the quality of the build and the portability of the boards. The game is easy to set up, quick to learn and fun for a wide variety of skills. It doesn’t require everyone to be single digit handicaps, but simply fans of your favorite team will enjoy the licensed gear from Victory Tailgate.
