As Fast As Lightning?
The only real way to create more distance is to create more speed.
The creation of speed in a golf club is the balance between swinging the club faster and translating that into more ball speed.
The PXG Lightning Tour 3-Wood is all about more speed from the club design to the face so that you can swing it as fast as possible, while producing as high of ball speeds as possible.
The lightweight chassis with a thinner faster face, make the ball explode off the face of this 3-wood.
The spined sole design, especially on the tour puts the weights right down the line so that all the power is pushed into the ball.
The thinner face creates higher ball speeds, while the carbon crown keeps this club lightweight.
It all translates into an efficient and effective design for speed.

The PXG Lightning Tour 3-Wood is our best 3-wood for 2026 because it is good from everywhere. I was impressed by how easy it is to hit off the tee.
I had some absolute monster tee shots with this club because of its high penetrating flight that offers long carry and good roll out.
The spined sole design, with the adjustable weights on the spine created power through the ball. I went heavy weight forward (which is stock) for lowest spin and lowest launch, but yet still found plenty of height.
The head is a little more compact which looks near perfect at address.
I liked that it was still a 15* head so there is no jacked loft, just pure power and speed from a true 3-wood. in off the tee.
Fit For Accuracy and Distance
PXG has always promoted fitting and once again revealed the benefit of doing so with the PXG Lightning Tour 3-Wood.
I went to a PXG outdoor fitting at Omni National Golf Course in Tucson, AZ for this fitting.
I’m a huge fan of outdoor fitting for hitting off real turf with real down range visuals.
I felt pretty good about my swings at the range, hit numerous shafts and settled on both an upgrade shaft and a stock shaft that were getting very similar results, only had a feel difference.
When the club arrived a few days later, I hit it even better on the course than I did at the range.
The accuracy went up considerably when I focused on a fairway and green compared to the wide open range.
I found the speed and distance I was getting at the range paired with amazing accuracy and precision on the course.
It was surprisingly forgiving too with high ball speeds and accuracy on off-center hits.
I felt in control of every shot.

I had multiple shots that “wowed” me with how far up the fairway I found my ball and how an even less than perfect swing still got the ball to the green in 2 on a par 5.
