Ping G440 LST Driver Review
Is The Art of Straight, Also The Longest Driver for 2025?
Ping has mastered the “art of straight” in 2025.
Every wood in the G440 line hits the ball the straightest of all brands.
If you need to hit the ball with less curve and find more fairways, the G440 line is going to be your best bet.
Sometimes straight gets associated with short.
The Ping G440 LST Driver does it with low spin and plenty of power. I didn’t get the fastest ball speeds, but I hit the most fairways which then totaled the most distance off the tee.
I played this club for 4 rounds of golf, hit it during numerous range sessions and tested it on the iGR Office by Carl’s Place DIY Simulator with the Flightscope MEVO+ Pro Launch Monitor to prove that this is the straightest driver in 2025, plus low spin, making it the longest in total fairway distance for 18 holes.
This is my definitive Ping G440 LST Driver Review.

Adjustable Art Of Straight
The Ping G440 LST Driver has 1 sliding weight which allows you to move 29grams of tungsten to fit your flight needs.
The reduced hosel weight allows for additional weight in the back along with better CG throughout the head.
The combo of head, weight, CG and LST designs means that this head hits the ball straight (or can be adjusted to your needs to hit straight) while still keeping the spin very low.
Ping has this driver dialed in for straight.
The ball jumps off the face going straight down the fairway more often than not.
Sure a wild swing can still hit the ball sideways, but in 2025, this driver is the straightest hitter.

Hot and Forgiving Face
Thinner and Hotter face means faster speeds and even more forgiveness.
The Ping G440 LST is a bomber that keeps the ball in the fairway.
The works that Ping did on spinsistency as well as speed means that this ball goes straight with low spin and speed.
The heavier weight in rear certainly helps with straight and launch so that you can easily launch a 9* head with strong flight, and straight.
You have one of the largest sweet spots too so not every swing needs to find the “screws” to get long drives.

Low Spin
The theory is that low spin driver are for low handicap and high swing speed golfers.
However it seems in my testing and the testing done by other golf publication that low spin driver help are large percentage of golfers because even if they aren’t generating spin by speed, they often are by path.
The Ping G440 LST Driver is a low spin driver that can be played by mid handicap golfer who need to cut down spin.
This driver is really playable while still reducing spin because of how straight it wants to hit the ball.

Improved Details
The Ping G440 LST Driver is not a huge change from the G430 driver, but more of a subtle upgrade that makes it a better driver for 2025.
The improved audio makes the G440 more muted at impact which is easier on the ears.
There is more carbon which gives Ping more weight to tinker with the CG.
The overall looks are much sleeker.
The shaft choices remain similar as I went with the Ping Tour Black 2.0 for the lowest spin and launch.
